Anthony David Osborn He goes by just David Osborn. Organized a group event. Collected money ($650. total) but then canceled the event and has not refunded the money. Has been avoiding me and keeps his distance. Arvada, Colorado

Approximately mid June, a bunch of friends and I decided to sign up for a race called the Warrior Dash that already took place in Copper mountain on August 21, 2010. David Osborn who at the time was a good trust worthy friend, had mentioned that he wanted a group of us to pitch in for a condo or town home to rent in Copper for that weekend. He set up an event invitation through Facebook since we were all connected on there and in this invitation he listed a few other things that would be inclusive; Music DJ, unlimited food and drinks.

David had asked if I could help him get more people to RSVP and later collect money from all those who were interested and wanted in. Of course at the time I had no problem with it and agreed to do that. Once the guest list was final I did collect money then had given it to him, $750 total plus another $100 that he collected from another friend on his own because he was going to take charge of reserving the place.

On July 27, 2010 I contacted him about a follow up but without any discussion first he decided to cancel the event on his own and left no explanation for all to read. I immediately expressed that we needed to refund the money. That same day and on August 12 he gave two totally different stories of where this money was leadingme to believe that he was lieing and had no intentions of paying it back.

Until this very day he has not made an effort to refund the money to anyone putting me in a bad position and ripping off our friends. He has chosen to not communicate with any of us or follow up with us about the money and basically has distanced himself from all of us.  

I do have a lot more to this story as I have left some information out to minimize the size of htis report. All I want is some help to get all of our money back from him and not let him get away with this. This money should have been refunded as soon as the event was cancelled and yet he has chosen not to. Please advise. Thank you.
