Anthony M. Nichols, David Szpond Of North Shores Development & Investments Co. Rental house scam Detroit Michigan

Anthony Nichols, an employee of David Szpond, president of North Shores Development & Investments Co. located in Detroit, Michigan took $1200 from my granddaughter for $650 rent and $650 security for a house at 24867 Dale Street in Eastpointe, MI. Nichols kept stalling her about her moving in and finally she told him to forget it, that she was tired of playing games with him.

He had one excuse after another: the current tenants had not moved out yet, she couldn't move in until the city inspector went there. This went on for about 3 weeks. She did get a key from him finally, but Nichols stated that she still couldn't move in!

My granddaughter finally told him to forget it, that she needed to find a place immediately and to give her the $1200 back. He refused and the next day told her that he had changed the locks on the house. She still has the old key.

We later found out that Nichols did not actually own the house, that it is owned by David Szpond. Anthony Nichols refuses to return her $1200 and when I tried to contact the owner, David Szpond, he refused to speak with me at all!

We are going to file a police report because this is fraud and larceny. In the meantime my granddaughter has found another house to rent, but needs her money to pay the security deposit and first month's rent.

These people should be put out of business.
