Archway Marketing/ Cynthia Powers And Mike Brown mystery shopper scam through mail, money gram them the money and check was rejected and now owe bank 4,000 Rogers Minnesota

i received a letter in the mail saying i had been selected for a mystery shoper program that i had done a survey saying i was interested in something like this. It stated that i was to go around to all the gas stations in my area and report was the gas prices were and then i was to send my evaluation form in, so they could see who was gas gouging.

they said that i would recieve 300.00 for my frist assignment and then after two months i would recieve 400.00 for each assignment after that. i would be a mystery shopper for companies such as Walmart, esso, exxon, chevron, jcpenny, gap, target, western union moneygram, mcdonalds and shell.

i called on christmas eve and they said to deposit the check in my bank account and wait for it ot clear and then 300.00 was mine and 150.00 would be for shopping at the jewerly counter at walmart and then i was to take 3330.00 to money gram and see if they would let me send that amount told me that you were only allowed to send 3300.00 and i was suppose to push the lady in to doing it for me.

i did that and talked with cynthia powers and she was very upset with me, cause i let them take the fee out of the 3330.00 so i only sent like 3290.00 and some amount. She then told me to keep the jewerly as a x-mas present and to call her friday after xmas.

I didn't have a chance on that friday so i was going to wait until monday and call. well monday my bank called first thing in the morning telling me that the check had bounced and my accounts are frozen and that i owe the bank 3,850.00 now and started asking questions,(i'm sobbing).She informed me that this was a scam and has happened to alot of people and told me that if i called this cynthia powers lady again she wouldn't answer the phone. She then told me to call her back cause she knew i was in shock.

I called cynthia powers back immediately and she answered told me that she didn't understand how the check bounced and told me she would call her home office and they would give me a call back. they never did call back and i called back and she answered again and told me she couldn't give me the home office number and that i would just have to wait and hung up.

i've filled a police report(there's not much they can do they say). spoke with federal trade commison, better business bureau, and phone busters in canada.

I then started to do some research on the internet and found that the phone number is pre-paid cell phone registerd in quebec, Canada and the number is a minnesota number.

I feel so stupid for falling for this, and i'm not a stupid person. Please pass the word bout this people, so this doesn't happen to someone else. please if anybody can help i have two child and this hurt really bad financially and right after christmas was over. thank you for taking the time to read my story.
