False Claim

AUTHOR: Ascenthq - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 24, 2008

At the time of this Claim we were not only not Licensed in Illinois, but had not contacted, or been contacted, by any Loan Officer/Mortgage Brokers/Branch Managers in the State of Illinois.

To be clear, we could not, and woud not, have attempted to hire any Loan Officers on the date in question within Illinois.

Additionally an application fee of $75 isn't available with Ascent (In any state).

Not one claim within this report is accurate in regards to Ascent Home Loans, Inc.

Facts about Ascent Home Loans, Inc. from a true Professionals Point of View

AUTHOR: Bill - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 08, 2007

Dear Bob or Mikey,

What ever your name is? And where is Colorado, Illinois? I'm not saying it does not exist, just not familiar with it being from Sterling myself originally.

I work with Ascent Home Loans, Inc. and I have not seen that kind of problem. Makes me wonder if you have another agenda? Maybe you are a recruiter for another company or mortgage broker? Hmmm?

1st. If Ascent home loans offered you the opportunity to open your own branch (as they did me), they are going on the information "you" provided to them. If you have the knowledge, experience, and self-discipline required to operate a branch with or without employees then you will be very successful. If on the other hand you gave them false information or misleading information, then you will NOT be successful.

2nd. I checked this company out, asked for references, did my due diligence and follow up before making a final decision. Now I will admit there where 1 or 2 things the recruiter told me which where not the total truth, however, he's a salesman. What do you expect? Ascent has provided me with all the support I've needed so far and with no problems.

As for charging you "an employee" for your own branch, WOW, you are once again off the mark. Their website and contract is in plain English, you can either be a loan officer for the company (no branch) or you have the option to have and run "YOUR" own branch (as I have done). You are not required to go to their office, work on their time clock, or even work company hours. "YOU" are your own boss. I have been with Ascent for going on 6 months now and own a very successful branch (in Portland, Oregon) with myself and 3 Originators to date and growing.

I recouped ALL of my start up costs when "I" closed "my" first loan and then some. I provide a very generous split with my originators 80% to them, 20% to the branch. Out of the branch 20% I provide training, computers (desk top), desk space, as well as leads I purchase for the crew. After 1 year with me I'll give them a personal laptop computer in appreciation for hard work and dedication to our success. It is a true TEAM effort.

Now please tell me where and with what company you can work with that pays a TRUE 100% payout and will cost YOU nothing? That company will not be in business very long. Sure you have to pay the $45 a month LOS fee, sure you have to pay for your own CREDIT PULLS, and there is nothing that states you must purchase your business cards from their printing source. There is nothing on their website that says it will only cost you $75 to start. On the outside chance a recruiter did say that to you and you did not take time for due diligence; well what sort of business man are you anyway?

And where is the scam? You get your clients, "you" process your files, you close your loans. How is it they tell you the loan didn't go through? "YOU" have control over the entire process. "YOU" have direct contact with the underwriter, closer, and funder.

I don't understand your comment on wanting you as a lead source. Sure I've lost one or two clients, but not to Ascent. I lost them to a competitor with no affiliation with Ascent.

I truly hope you can find a place to work that will pay you what you seem to have fantasized (as the perfect job) in your head. And if you do happen to come across that place, keep it a secret because if they pay more than you they'll be out of business in a very short time frame. Best of luck to you.
