Aspen Dental performed an unecessary procedure and it was done incorrectly. I was lead to believe that the procedure was necessary. Turns out that it was purely cosmetic. After "fixing" my teeth, they chipped in less than two days.

I got nowhere with the dentist or the office so, I filed a dispute with their financing company (Dental First/Comenity). That was an even bigger joke. They refuse to credit my account and Aspen Dental is constantly harrassing me.

They call and leave no message or voicemail, they text and email me everyday. I never even gave them my email address. I want them to stop bothering me and just credit my account. I am no longer a patient there. I have a new dentist who knows what he is doing. I have looked up reviews on Aspen Dental and they are very bad in every state.

I suggest voiding Aspen Dental at all costs.

Kimberly You Are An Idiot

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, December 20, 2019

First, the fact it happens to be a CC vs. a loan doesn't change anything; in fact, the fact they issued you the CC only strenghtens the position that the credit line and the dental work have nothing to do with each other, and yes of course the CC company will side with the dentist in a dispute because of course, you had the work done and you signed for everything with a smile on your face.

The fact your teeth chipped is irrelevant because CC companies don't evaluate disputes based upon the quality of medical/dental care offered.  They evaluate whether the contract was fraudulently induced.  Based on your own words, there was no fraud.

The fact they happened to issue you a CC is their way of telling you, go ahead and charge more on it, because we like making money off of you.  You're just an idiot for not realizing that when you tried to defend yourself.  It's important to understand you don't have to defend yourself  - you're an idiot and you have no defense.

There will come a point (and this is common) where the financing company will run a hard credit inquiry on you which will lower your credit score, evaluate your credit situation on a big picture basis, and decide to lower your credit limit, further lowering your credit score.  It doesn't matter why - because they have that right and they can lower your credit limit for any reason, or no reason.

They figured they made enough money off of you and they don't want you as a customer any longer.  If you want to see another company that plays the same game, look up Synchrony.  They're the big player in the game.

And yes, your only recourse is to sue your dentist for the poor work performed.  I suspect the previous dentist will wish to settle rather than go through some ridiculous case that would cost him much more money even if he were to go to trial and win.  I would not wait - just do it.

And once again - no, I do not work for any of the companies involved.  The fact you don't get this is your problem.  It's time for you to wake up and see things for what they are.  You don't have to be an idiot your whole life.

I believe that you do work for them

I never said that I was not paying them. They have been receiving every payment. They are harrassing me because I am using my freedom of speech to warn others of their actions.

Second, their financing company is more like a credit card. If, I purchase something that is broken, it should be fixed, credited or replaced. Know your facts before commenting.

Why Bother the Financing Company??

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 18, 2019

The financing you receive has nothing to do with the dental work performed.  The fact you no longer go to that dentist is also irrelevant.  You signed an agreement indicating they would pay the dentist, and you would pay back the financing company.  Nothing in your financing agreement does it indicate you don't have to pay if the work performed was unsatisfactory.

So, your only option at this point would be to hire a lawyer and sue the dentist for malpractice.  Now, you would likely succeed in that, based on your narrative, and if you can get your current dentist to provide an affadavit as to the poor work performed.  If you succeed and collect from the other dentist for the poor work done, then your funds can be used to pay off the financing company.

Until then, you will need to pay the financing company until either the loan is paid off in full, OR your lawyer negotiates a settlement that will pay off the remaining financing, and put a little in your pocket...

Isn't THAT a Surprise

They did not credit your account which means you are on the hook for that balance. You are not paying. Of course they are going to call you! No, I don't work for them.
