Atmosphere Movers Failed to pay for damages caused by the packers, shippers and movers. Covington , Louisiana

I chose this company based on their reviews. When my furnishings arrived it came with only two delivery persons and one could not carry items because she had a bad knee. Most of my items were not in any protective coverings. My flat screen television, artwork, furniture and other items that were not boxed were just tossed into the truck. When the driver pulled on the canvas storage bag for my Christmas tree it was caught on something and he tore it in half. That was just the beginning. While unloading my antique desk the driver could not control the item as it went down the ramp and tore off two of the four legs. The one box the second delivery person tried to bring in the house she drop because her knee gave out. Because none of the furniture was wrapped in furniture blankets the furniture arrived nicked, scratched and dirty.

The driver tried to demand payment after the load was delivered even though this was to be billed to my employer. They continue to hound me by phone until the check arrived.

The next nightmare came as I unboxed my belongings. I only had three to enter a claim. Obviously who ever packed my items did not care how they arrived. I had heavy stoneware packed on top of crystal. Two of the crystal stemware pieces were crushed under the weight of the stoneware. Twelve stems never arrived.

My everyday dishes were packed with iron cookware. Again items were broken due to the weight of the heavier items.

Three silk floral arrangements were just thrown into boxes and then heavier were items packed on top. They obviously miscalculated how much packing material to use as they used my kitchen and bathroom towels to wrap items. That is how two of my pictures were broken as I was not expecting anything to be wrapped I. The towels and they dropped to the floor when I removed the towels.

My custom bedding was jammed into the bottom of the wardrobe boxes. My mattresses were not boxed so they arrived dirty from being drug across the bottom of the truck.

All of this damage was reported in the required 7 days and even though I purchased extra insurance (against their advice) I have yet to see one dime in replacement dollars. The insurance cost over one thousand dollars above the moving expenses because I wanted replacement value. I have never been contacted once by the company even though I have sent multiple emails and left voice messages.

Just when you thought they could get any more unscrupulous, instead of billing my employer $5710.00 they tried to bill them $7500 as they knew that was the total dollars that had been allotted for the move. If my employer had not checked with me they would have paid the overcharges.

When I move back if this was the only moving company left on earth I would complete the job myself! Fortunately I am sure there are reputable movers that are not out to cheat, steal and break my personal items that I have worked very hard to acquire.
