For some reason my phone has not been able to connect to my wifi router for a long time now. So, whenever I use any data it is all cellular and it's billed to the account. I have tried calling customer service . I enter my router password over and over and it just never connects. This was never a problem until about 6 months ago.

AT&T not at fault

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 07, 2015

AT&T is probably not at fault. I think I jumped the gun with this report. I turned my cellular data off and then the wifi password magically worked. I have no idea why that would make a difference but I have nothing to actually indicate that AT&T had a hand in any of it. To the dude that spends his days reading ripoff report and filing long rebuttals forming opinions about screen names and avatars, cheers buddy! Have a good night.

I did read your post

I did read your original post, and based on what you wrote you are the incompetent one.

For one, what have you done to justify that it is actually AT&T's issue?  They only provide Celluar Service and according to you that connection is working fine, they have nothing to do with WiFi.  Well that is unless they hacked into your phone to mess up your connection.  Otherwise any "connection" issue you are having at a minimum would be with the phone and/or router.

So have you tried your phone on any other WiFi network?  There are several "Big Box" stores that have free WiFi in the store that all you have to do is connect to it.  If it works there then your phone is not the issue.

As for your router, routers believe it or not do go bad.  It could be a case where it is starting to fail and it is just shown with this situation.  It could also be a case where you are just typing in the information wrong.  Perhaps you wrote the password down wrong...yea go figure.

By the way what did Customer Service say when you called them?

The Issue

AUTHOR: Tyg - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 06, 2015

Then the issue is with YOUR ROUTER and NOT with AT&T!! AT&T is going to have ZERO control over YOUR ROUTER!!!It always amazes me at how quickly people like yourself are willing to blame ANYONE ELSE before even doing the simple things like resetting YOUR router and RE-ENTERING the information. Is it TOO HARD for YOU to think outside of that little bubble YOU call reality?? YOU could have had a power "bump". NOT a power surge, but a BUMP that quckly flashes the power off then on a few times and THAT ALONE could have blown out a feature on YOUR router. Heres a NOVEL IDEA, sit down at the computer and REDO your router and its settings. Odds are that when YOU had a power bump the device and its password MAY have been effected. STILL NOT A RIPOFF AND ITS ON YOU BECAUSE ITS IN YOUR HOME!!!!!YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!!!!! AT&T is NOT responsible for issues INSIDE your own home with YOUR electronic equipment. How exactly is AT&T customer service supposed to help YOU with YOUR ROUTER??? THEY are NOT THERE to assist YOU with OTHER electronic problems. Sounds to me that YOU have a problem either DOING ANYTHING that requires concentrated thought, or that YOU are totally and utterly INCOMPETENT when it comes to electronics. BOTH of which IS NOT THIER FAULT!!!!! YOU are just going to have to PAY someone to come out and fix YOUR ISSUE!!!
