Linda and her husband sold us a home with problems, when we complained she had an excuse. The carpet could not be stretched because it was new, the rips will never show. The trailer is put together correctly, when there is a big crease in the carpet showing something is not right. The walls do not have 2x4 studs ever 16 inches, it has 2x3's. The floor gives when you walk on it, the shingles are falling off the roof, which is rottening. The outlets fall out of the walls. The sheetrock on the walls do not even go to the top of the walls and there are bucked out. This home is not that old the carpet should not be falling apart and the roof should not be rottening, the siding is bucked, this home was not built or put together correctly. It was a model home and was sold for full price. The home was to have a waranty but, Linda the owner will not return my calls.

First let us say that at Award Mobile Homes we pride ourselves on open communication with our customers, and strive to provide outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, we have no way to contact Theresa to help resolve her issues because she did not leave a phone number, e-mail address or any other contact information for us to follow up with her. We do not have a record of her contacting us by phone or remember her coming by our office to speak with us directly regarding her issues, but do invite her or any of our customers to contact us if they have a problem with any of the homes that they have bought from us.


For the record, all of the homes that we sell at are built by the manufacturers we represent. They are HUD approved homes that are inspected by local city or county officials to certain housing standards and receive a certificate of occupancy before they get their county or city mobile home permit. If we did not provide adequate service and set up, the homes would not pass inspection and the owner would not be allowed to occupy the home. In our 30 years of business no home we have sold has failed to pass inspection.


In addition, each home we sell comes with a manufacturers warranty that covers manufacturers defects for a certain period of time. Since we represent many different manufacturers, the procedures to handle warranty issues are specified by the company that manufactures the home, not us.  Keep in mind that most home warranties cover manufacturers defects or set up issues. They do not cover normal wear and tear, excessive pet or child damage or outright abuse.


Theresa posted here on February 22, 2008 and states that the home is not that old. After a period of time there is bound to be normal wear and tear, but without her contact information we have no way of knowing how long she had an issue before trying to call us. She could also have come by our office to talk with us if she felt that we were not returning her calls. If she would contact us now with full her name, address, city, state, phone number, type of home, and transaction number if possible, we might be able to find the transaction and service records to see what actions were taken in servicing her home and if we can help her further.
