On 7/26/2010 I purchased a used G.E. Refrigerator from Babys Dolls Appliances for $ 170.00. I was told that they would deliver it the next morning at 9:30 a.m. free of charge since they needed to switch the handles would open on the right side instead of the left. I observed the unit to be cold in both the refrigeration and freezer area. On 7/27/2010 I still had not received my new appliance so I called and was told it was on the truck and on its way. I am a 10 minute drive and it took over 2 hours to get it here. When they arrived, I was told that there was a problem with the unit I had purchased and they had replaced it with a Kelvinator unit of the same value. 8/5/2010 I called Babys Dolls Appliances because the freezer was warm and the refrigeration unit was as well. I told them I had family coming in from out of town and needed a Refrigerator. They agreed to provide me with a replacement one while they installed a brand new compressor on my unit. They said they would return mine to me the following day. I informed the owner Maggie that I thought they should at least keep it over night to verify there are no more problems.

We agreed on delivery at 12 noon on 8/8/2010. I still had not received it by 3:30 pm so I phoned the store and the man who answered said they were installing the compressor and as soon as they were done they would load it up and deliver it. I again requested that they run it overnight to verify there were no problems. I received delivery of my appliance on 8/8/2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon. I was told that the compressor had been replaced with a new one, and the unit had been completely gone over by their new technician and everything was great. On 8/20/2010 at 9:45 a.m. until 6 p.m. that evening I placed over 25 calls to their office because the unit was getting warm AGAIN. Nobody answered. I called MANY more times over the next week and still no answer. On the morning of 8/27/2010 I drove to the appliance store only to find it was closed. I wrote a note stating I was once again having problems with the refrigerator I had purchased from them and that I was unhappy and wanted a refund today! I put the note into their mail slot on the door. I went home and called twice and spoke the man who works for the store. He assured me that he would have the owner Maggie call me before the close of business today. It is now 6 p.m. and I still do not have a working unit and I did not receive a phone call.

On 8/28/2010 9:00 a.m. I once again drove to the appliance store. The sign stated they open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays. There was nobody there. I waited until 9:15 a.m. and went to the gas station down the street. I returned to the appliance store at 9:25 a.m. and found the owner Maggie there. She stated that she had received my note from the prior day but could not find my phone number. I did put my number on the note the prior day. I informed her that I am very unhappy with the appliance I purchased from her and that I had been trying to contact her by phone for over a week. She gave me her word and promised me that both herself and her technician will be at my house and install both a thermostat and evaporator fan on my refrigerator. She also stated that if I had any further problems after that, she WILL refund my money.

8/28/2010  11:30 a.m. The owner Maggie arrived on time with her technician. They replaced the thermostat and the defrost heater. They then told me that they needed to add more gas as well. They spoke to each other several times in Spanish so I could not understand what they were saying. I told them that I was concerned that I was going to continue to have problems. I said I didnt think you would need to have to add more gas to a brand compressor. She said that they dont always come filled when they get them. But she did say she was going to call and complain to where she got it from. She promised to return today at 2:30 p.m.
