I had to change my debit card because our bank changed its name. So I wrote to Banfield and told them I would like to change the debit card number. They told me they would get back to me. So during this time of waiting for them to get back with me, they were illegally obtaining info on my bank account and they themselves went to the bank and received my new information, without my permission. So I contacted them and they reversed their charges on me since I want to cancel their wellness plan. Canceling had nothing to do with their pet services but with what they did to get my information. Now they want me to pay since I want to cancel the money they put out for past services to the cat. They ripped me off from my account illegally and now they are trying to collect more money from me because I want to caacel. They never apologized neither admit their faults. I do not reccomend this company for wellness plans or anything that has to do where they have to pull money out of your account. They think they can do anything.

A Note from Banfield

Were very sorry for any confusion regarding the account from which you pay for your wellness plan. Some credit card companies automatically provide updated account numbers to companies they
work with including Banfields bank. This applies only to regular automatic payments and is both legal and Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant. When a change to an account is not requested from the cardholder (i.e. a credit card has expired), the bank will forward updated to information to authorized
companies who had the original information, in this instance, Banfield. The new banking information we have on file was most likely automatically provided to us by your credit card company. For more information, please contact your banking institution.
We would welcome a chance to discuss this further with you in hopes that we can settle this matter with you. Please contact our Wellness Plan Relations team at 1-888-649-2716.

"So during this time of waiting for them to get back with me, they were illegally obtaining info on my bank account and they themselves went to the bank and received my new information,"
That's quite a claim. Do you have anything to back it up? I know exactly how they got the information and it wasn't illegal. The problem is that after reading your post, I'm fairly certain that explaining the details to you would be a complete waste of time. Suffice it to say that if they had illegally obtained and used your banking information, they could be prosecuted. I'm betting they're not too worried about that happening (for good reason).
