Hi everyone let me go ahead and explain what happen so that you can get the full idea and be the judge. I just came home from my 1 week Boston trip and my mother who's been taking care of the dog says that he recently have trouble peeing, but poo still comes out. I asked her how long has it been going on. She said about two days ago. I said let me see what's going on today and if he's still not able to pee we'd take him to the vet when it open first thing in the morning. I called Banfield to setup an appointment for tomorrow because we have him on a wellness plan. So I took him there and this vet came him and stuff her finger up his butt and told me that his prostate was enlarged and this could be the reason why he has trouble urinating. We even paid an extra 80 to do a urinalysis to make sure there's no other reason as why he might be leaking. The test did NOT show anything and she repeated confidently that it was due to the prostate enlargement. I ask what can we do to fix this. She said to get him neutered and that would stop the hormones and eventually his prostate would go back to normal. I thought ok let's just do that. She quickly print out a bill of 296.96. I told her that I would go home and think about it. I called up his original vet, because I've read many bad reviews of banfield and surgery. We got him to his old vet and did the procedure there. 3 days after the surgery he was still leaking and this time he was vomiting. I called his original vet and ask is this normal and they told me that what he was doing is not normal and it wasn't due to the surgery. I called up banfield and they said that we should just take him in. And so the next day I took him in and this time they said that the prostate is still enlarge and he has pancreatitis. She gave me a bunch of medication that I have to buy and told me that the vomiting makes him loose body fluids and that he needs to be hospitalize and injected with iv fluids. I agree to hospitalize him not knowing that this would cause him to be more sick. When I came by to pick him up to go home he was convulsing and I ask them what's going on because he wasn't like this when I gave him to them. They replied "oh he's just stress cause he's in pain". When I got him home he wouldn't eat or drink and just laid still. My mom and I thought he was going to die. It was a horrible nightmare to suffer through. We spent the entire night looking after him. The next day I took him back and ask them he's not eating anything nor drinking. They said gotta put him back on IV and hospitalize. Again dumb enough I believed them. I came back and this time when I picked him up his eyes won't even open. They told me that his case is very severe and that he would need overnight treatment with IVs. I said no it's fine then the vet said that "I know sometimes having pancreatitis is really painful for a dog and it's best if we can put him down humanely should it need to come to that you can always come by here".  I decided to take him to the best animal hospital in charlotte and they took an x-ray and told me what the real problem was and even show me the evidence. All he had were bladder stones in his urethra. They even did a blood test and show me the results from the IVs he have been injected which was a high dose of ions that were at toxic levels and if they didn't operate on him right away he could have died. I allowed them to do the surgery and it cost me a fortune roughly 5000 dollars, but it was to save his life so I didn't care. The whole point of this was I'm an idiot of an owner for even taking my dog to banfield. I nearly killed my own dog because I listened to an inexperienced vet from banfield when instead I should been listening to a high school kid who didn't even graduated yet but came up with the right diagnosis. I'm so grateful that I was able to take him in the right place in time. As for Banfield if you are reading this know that I'm going to cancel your services and tell everyone I know NEVER EVER go to Banfield and don't bother replying to this comment because you know you are guilty and you are just after the money and do NOT give jack about the animals. As for other owners who fell victim like me I'm sorry; we were all just a human blood bank to banfield.
