I bid on a music CD in the Internet company ebay online auction site in October 2003 and won. The dealer was Bargainland Liquidation Depot, and I transferred the 5.15 dollars by paypal, which Bargainland were accepting at the time. They did not send the CD. I sent many emails to different addresses that I found for the various services of BLD, but received no answers. Finally I gave a bad rating in ebay. The store responded in kind using an automatic computer program.

This company appears to have a warehouse store as well as selling in ebay.com. They have a bad reputation, due to 9000 negative ratings in ebay, but they have not been kicked out of ebay. They appear to write phony positive ratings for themselves which they insert in their ratings at ebay in order to raise their overall ratings and to bury the bad ones. They still only have 88 percent good ratings, whereas most dealers in ebay have over 97 percent positive ratings.

There is an internet complaint site where they try to encourage people to fill out a form and send it to the attorney general of Arizona in hopes of starting a class action suit against Bargainland liquidation depot.

I read the negative ratings of this store in ebay sometimes and the complainants all tell similar stories. They did not get their goods, could not reach anyone by telephone or email, received obviously broken and unrepairable junk resembling in no way the descriptions in ebay.

The reprisal ratings they give are cynical and deceptive. They said "transaction unsatisfactory, unpleasant experience." This is no claim, but simply an insinuation. It was that way, but only for me. They simply ignored me, which is hardly unpleasant for them. They also claimed they were real people whom one could talk to on the phone. Other complainants say they could not reach the store by phone, and I don't believe I could either. Emails are easier for stores to manage, anyway. They can choose when to read and reply to them at their own convenience.

I highly recommend never buying from this store, especially not in the Internet through ebay or other auction sites. I was never in the store and cannot judge it. Presumably one can examine the items before buying them, but perhaps not. I did not mind writing emails and waiting for replies, but I never got the CD or any explanation, and I consider that to be arrogant on the part of BLD.

Like a B movie

AUTHOR: Rita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 15, 2007

I've had the link to BARGAINLAND's feedback in my favorites for years mostly for entertainment purposes. It's like watching a bad B movie horror flick where the characters should have known better. And much like a B movie, the least of the stupidest of characters is left standing and in this case, it's Bargainland.

Heck, I even find the favorable response on this thread to be a kick in the pants. The part where one responder said. I love Bargainland Liquidation on ebay. Yes, there are times I have not gotten an item I bid on.

(There are times) that he/she didn't get the item bid on. Well, hello to the big red flag flapping in the wind. Heck, I think that one would have better luck with buying one of those grab bags at a dime store where one can at the very least, shake the bag and know that something is really in there.

Yes, blame can be put on Ebay for letting Bargainland keep on trucking but in the end, with Bargainland's positive feedback score (as of today's date) of 90.4% it's bidder beware. It's up to the bidder to read the feedback and make an informed choice on if they want to risk walking right into a B movie.

So in the end, in the case of Bargainland, one cannot feel sorry for those that take the risk when it is pretty dang clear (if one reads their feedback) that there is a big enough red flag to not walk, but to run far away while clutching your wallet.

Janice from California... Help a brother out then.

AUTHOR: Kevin - (U.S.A.)

Janice
There well over 10,000 other furious ebayers that would love to find a way to figure out their email system. By all means, kick down your gems of wisdom to the rest of us that got screwed (myself to the tune of $508) so we may have a happy face such as your own and venture forth to defend this sorry excuse for an organization. Not likely. The rest of us got an automated steel door slammed in our face or the sickning sweet "I'm sorry but I cannot help you, Is there anything else I can do for you today" that resembles the o'l royal "pooch scew"

my experience with this company was positive

AUTHOR: Janice - (U.S.A.)

The item I bought was supposed to be a pair but was only a single. Once I figured out their e-mail system (it is way too complicated) I got an immediate response and they offered to either refund the entire amount plus shipping both ways or offered the item to me at a discounted price. The item was exactly as described - great quality, great price so I opted to keep it. The difference was refunded and immediately credited to my paypal account. IMO thier payment and communication system is their worst feature. Once I got it figured out, everything went smoothly. I found them to be very reasonable with their remedy to my situation.

Bargainland has always been good to me.

AUTHOR: Heather - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 15, 2005

I love Bargainland Liquidation on ebay. Yes, there are times I have not gotten an item I bid on, but they have always refunded my money. They sell all their items as is. To me its part of the fun. I get items valued 200.00 USD + for pennies on the dollar value. I take the chance. Since they sell their items as is where is, its my chance to take. If you dont get the item, they give your money back before the rest of your items even get to your house. With the quantity of items they sell. Some items will get lost in the mail. They have thousands of auctions on ebay at any give time.
