Bert Terhart came off very nice at first when I started doing business with him. I thought I had found a wonderful person to pursue SEO with. Only to find out later that he is a complete scam artist. Ranging from poor SEO to BAD COMMUNICATION, he also contacts his banks and commits chargeback fraud! Small claims court is next on my list.
Do not trust this weirdo with your money, and do not trust that he can get you the results you need with search engine optimization.
I can't stress this enough! Learn from my mistakes, I'm out a few thousand dollars now.
Keep looking for the NEXT SEO professional, not nextgenseo.com - SCAM.

I'm happy to report that Bert Terhart and I have been able to reach an amicable resolution. Sometimes all it takes is a simple phone call to resolve differences, which is a route I regret not taking initially. Mr Terhart has handled himself as a gentleman and ethical businessman and I wish him well.

I'm not going to go back and fourth, this will be my only reply.
1. On our website it is clear, right when you click checkout that you are subscribing MONTHLY.
2. We have emails and phone calls dating well past 2 months, I paid monthly for your work to be done, did you think this should be all for free?
3. I tried over and over to get ahold of you to start tasks, I asked repeatedly for the social media account logins and other things. You would ignore these requests.
4. Just because your credit card company came to a conclusion that they were going to honor your fraud claim do you feel you don't owe me for at MINIMUM the one month of payment that you agreed to? Are these the morals you conduct business with? You got your full 3 months refunded and don't feel you should give me my payment for the one month you can admit to owing? Classy, no, I mean scammy.
I spent a lot of money and time providing SEO for clients, I also obtained excellent results improving their rankings. I spent hours of phone calls and emails dealing with you. You feel like I should be out of pocket for these expenses for 3 months? Like I said, if you're truly that ignorant that you didn't know this was monthly and thought I should be working all these months with you and taking your calls past 2 months in, at minimum if you have any dignity as a man you would send me my 1 month of money that you stole back from me. Call it an investigation of your bank where they wrongfully sent you my money back to you, find your dignity and do what's right as I would. 20 years in business I'd think you'd know better.
5. 20 years in business and you were using my services to outsource your SEO work to? Funny that after 20 years you wouldn't have any solid relationships yet with someone that you outsource your jobs to. I can guess why, you just call your credit card company to refund you and plead ignorance and that's why at heart your bert fraudhart.
Hope stealing the 3 months of payments is worth all of this!

Facts Of The Matter

I hired Josh Bolstad from IcyWebDesign in Edmonton, Alberta Canada to do some SEO work for me. The work that he agreed to do was based entirely on SEO packages that IcyWebDesign was listed on their site at that time (https://icywebdesign.com). All services are listed as month to month, no contracts. I paid for 1 month and was told that the work would start immediately.
Included among the many services being offered was reporting. This is standard in the s****.>
The range of services listed on their website to be done monthly was extensive and included videos, blogs posts, map citations, etc. Although I asked repeatedly, I never received any proof of any kind that the work that was promised was ever done for any one of the sites that IcyWebDesign was supposed to be working on.
I tried for more than 3 months to get some idea of the work that had actually been done for the month that I had paid for. I was stalled and promised and then stalled some more. Finally, Josh just flat-out refused to provide any evidence whatsoever that any work had been done.
A quarterly review of my credit card statement showed that IcyWebDesign had auto-billed my credit card. We had no contract and I had received no invoices. I was never informed in writing or otherwise, that I would be auto-billed. I contacted Josh and told him to cease any further billing and asked that the last two months be refunded immediately given that the scope of work listed on the site at that time and that we agreed to was never done and that he had charged those last two months without my knowledge or express permission. He flatly refused to refund the money.
At this point, I simply contacted my credit card company. I informed them what happened. They told me to send all the email correspondence I had with Josh and IcyWebDesign to them and that they would be conducting their own investigation. The credit card company also contacted IcyWebDesign as part of their investigation.
The credit card company's fraud investigation team concluded that all monies paid to IcyWebDesign by me would be refunded. Let me repeat that: Their internal investigation, based on facts and evidence provided by both me and Josh Bolstad/IcyWebDesign, concluded that I paid for services that were never rendered.
