Best Buy Best Buy Technicians lied about HD Corruption, damaged my DVD Drive,Improper installation, bad customer support,forced to me buy Hard drive by telling me my HD drive was corruped and it was all lies, I have the Hard Drive installed and working,San Carlos California

I took my computer to Best Buy on the 29th of September 2008 for service since it was not working properly, I was charged $199.00 immediately without knowing the reason and regardless of the type of service.
After waiting for 10 days with no response from the technicians, I thought by now my computer should be fixed, because the technician told me, it should take 5 business days to fix my computer I trusted them, technician told me they will give me a call as soon as it gets ready.

10 days later with no response I called in and they told me my computer requires a new hard drive the operating system hard drive crashed however my slave drive, which has all the backup data is still working, I told them why they haven't called me earlier to tell me this, of course one blames the other.

So I went to the store purchased a new hard drive for the operating system and gave it to them, and they said it should be ready within 24 hours, so I waited another 7 days no response not even one phone callI called the store and they told me they require the recovery disks from the manufacturer to install the operating system, which I don't have, and I had to order them and wait another week, of course one blames the other for not calling me about the CDs.

I waited 5 more days with no response, I went to the store, they gave me the computer missing my backup hard drive which was perfectly working fine, it had my photos,music movies I purchased and spent fortune on it my whole life was on that backup drive or called the slave drive. So I explained to the technician that nobody asked them to remove it, so the technician went in and told them to install my backup driveafter waiting for 2 hours in the store he came out and told me now its installed and ready to go. I told him can you please start my computer just want to make sure its working and I can see the backup files.

Sure enough the technician lied to me and the backup hard drive was not installed in the computer. it was hidden in the box of the new hard drive they installed. The backup drive was mistakenly formatted and they did not want me to see it blank, so they lied to me and told me it was installed. So I told them I'm not leaving until my backup drive is installed, the technician installed it and it was blank, I went off on them and they lied to me and said it was corrupted, so I told them please install the other operating system drive that you told me it was corrupted and purchased a new one to replace it, luckily it was not broken as they claimed, it was still working!!!!, and had some of my our memories and pictures. So I asked the technician why did they have me buy a new hard drive if the operating system hard drive is still working, he said eventually it will break, we recommend installing a new hard drive.

Two days later, my computer stopped working, and I heard a noise coming out, I called Best Buy they told me I have to bring it and they will charge me $60 for diagnostics again!!!. I refused, I brought a friend of mine who is a technician and found out the installation of the hard drive was not tight enough one of the belts that connect the hard drive to the mother board was LOOSE, so he put it together and I HAD TO AVOID THEIR BAD SERVICE.

Basically Best Buy lied to me all the way, bad customer service, full of lies, they had me go through all this to promote their business and have my buy new hard drive and charge me for the installation. It was a horrible experience and I definitely don't want them to get a penny out of me.
