I was sent an unsolicited check for $3,950 and an Acceptance Form to become a Customer Service Evaluator.

I was told to spend $100 at Wal-Mart in merchandise, then to send $3,350 & $200 service charge by Money Gram from Wal-Mart. In return, I would receive a $300 salary.

Upon reading the Acceptance Form, I noted that they would not be making any tax deductions (federal or state) for my salary because I would be an indpendent contractor.

Immediately, red flags started going up. Upon doing research on the Ripoff Report website, I discovered another lady who had the exact same thing happen to her.

Thank goodness I checked this out before I cashed the check!

Confused

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 20, 2008

I have done some mystery shops for this company in the past few months. So far everything has been on the up and up. Sonic, Alltel, and an Alltel in a different town. I have always been reimbursed. I questioned the check that that I recieved also. As an independant contractor, my taxes are my responsibility to hold out and I report how much is made. It would be like my old employer, he paid me cash every week and I had to fill out a 1099 at the end of the year.

My understanding is that people that send money through the Wal-Mart money gram system have alot of problems doing so, especially if it's big amounts. I have personally experienced the headache of trying to wire a big amount though them. I wasn't doing a transfer for Best Customers, it was my personal stuff.

This is all just my opinion and experience with them.
Thanks
Kim

Tell me again, why did they want you to send a moneygram for $3,350 to someone? Why couldn't they send their own money if this were legitimate.
