I sold a laptop to an individual who used bidpay to pay for my product sold. I got emails from bidpay with the transcation number and everything stating that they had slated 1.500 for my product once they shipped it.
I sent them information time and time again. They sent me a confirmation that my money order was shipped about a month ago. I have not yet received the money order and my product has not reached the buyer.
I dont know if the buyer is behind this, but I want my money cause I shipped my item all the way to Nigeria. I contacted the post office and they have begun an investigation.
I kept inquiring to the website about the status of my money order using the transcation number they gave to me then I would get a response saying that there is no record of my transaction and they did not send any confirmation emails to me.
They are soon to go out of business, and I dont have my money.

I just wanted to say something about Bidpay. Before I do I must tell you this. NEVER sell to anyone in Africa 95% of them are scammers. You can look up Nigerian scam and see all what they do. I been down that road from sending me counterfeit money orders and almost being put into jail for trying to cash that crap. Of course my explanation of being innocent and not knowing about their scams saved me lol. Seriously people from that country are desperate for things we have access to so they will do anything. They set up fraudulent Bidpay emails and say its okay to send them the product. Of course bidpay dont know anything about it but if you check with them they can tell you if its okay. You have to be careful with selling online. I no longer work with people from overseas not saying people here in the US cant scam us. I been down that road as well.. Someone in the US needed an item shipped to "Nigeria" and I thought ok they are going to pay me within the US...stupid me.. same ol scam. Now with Bidpay I have used them maybe 2 or 3 times with no problems. I dont ship the item until the money is in my hands and thats for any type of payment.
So in short..you are kind of to blame for this matter....Make sure you have the money in your hand before shipping.. ALWAYS!!! If u need more help than just email me and i can help u out ..

Sorry to say, your post indicates you've been hooked by one of the plethora of auction scams. "Nigeria" has become a synonym for the mother of all "scams".

Bid Pay has no 'record' of the transaction as almost certainly the initial (phony) documentation from "Bid Pay" was part of the scam. As in "wasn't REALLY from Bid Pay".

The first legitimate buyer has yet to emerge from Nigeria.

Correct! This has already been announced: 4th January 2006 14:48 GMT:"A note on its web site reads: "Effective December 31, 2005, BidPay.com, Inc. will be discontinuing operations. As a result, BidPay will no longer offer payment services to the online auction industry." Western Onion is, of course, alive and well. Please bear in mind it's very unlikely the real "Bid Pay" was involved in your scam...errrr....transaction.

E Bay has continually warned against using Bid Pay, at the same time allowing sellers to display the Bid Pay logo on their auction pages. Strange, eh?
