I purchased a toilet seat from them for $20 and paid with my debit card. When I got home, I noticed that the front of the seat was broken. I did not open it. A week later I returned it to the store unopened. I asked for a cash refund since the transaction had cleared my account instantly after the purchase. They refused and said that they could give me in store credit or run a credit through on my card. Since it is the weekend, I will not see the money untill at least tomarrow. The store also gives cash back on debit card purchases, so it shouldnt be a problem getting a cash refund. Beware all who shop there.

Contract not valid

AUTHOR: Shane - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 23, 2014

The agreement is not valid if they don't live up to what they promise. Nobody should have to put up with shoddy quality and customer service, even though this is the norm these days.

The transaction was a PIN based one. As of Monday night, my money was not there yet.

How was it processed?

Even though you used your Debit card it can be processed two ways. One is a PIN Based transaction that is treated in most cases just like cash. The other way is as a charge card going through as a VISA or MC(depending on the logo on your card).

If it was processed as VISA/MC then this is not considered cash and must be refunded to the card. It is just like you using a regular credit card, where you can't get cash back but because of the policy of VISA/MC is that it must go back on the card charged.
