Big Red Sports and Imports So low rip off seniors w/ medical problems Norman Oklahoma

 Like Lois Griffin on Rip Off, we saw ad on TV and Craigslist for 99 dollar payments on new car.  We were needing a car we could rely on as my husband needed back surgery in Frisco, Tx and multiple trips to hospital and doctor. As a matter of fact we have an appointment this Tuesday for a spinal block to see where surgery is needed.  Being on Social Security and fixed income we wanted a good relible used car as new cars lose their value the second they are off the lot.

Upon arriving, we asked for the craisgslist person who advertised a Ford Focus and a low payment and low mileage. 1^st thing as we walked around lot it was he couldn’t find but had plenty of focuses.

He asked what we like and we told him. He suggested using any car for application and finding one after approval.  They used their game on us like Lois of using different numbers to get us approved.  Frustration and fatigue set in long before we were done.  I think they count on that to rip people off.

The salesman wanted us to ride in a 2008 Aveo 5 LT 4 door while they worked on getting us financing.  We had to move to my husband’s tribal area for them to help with his very expensive surgery.  Several payments had to be late and we had to use a short sale to get house off our back as its value dropped from 228,000 to less then 120,000. We were in a bind and they knew it.. 

They saleman went on about finding a better and very clean car for us as he wanted us to have a good car for surgery travel..  He did point out the hail damage.  As a matter of fact told us to turn into our insurance company after we get.  He failed to point out broken passenger door handle, broken passenger rear door frame and driver’s side major dent that only showed up in certain light (that is when I was very disappointed in Big Red as obviously was in a wreck.)  That weekend we smelt something burning and even emailed them about it. But while we were trying to discover where smell was coming from, we discovered a spare tire that was obviously not the one for the car.  It was too wide – it had chalk mark of size on the tread so not on ground so they knew too big. 

We wrote to them via craigslist email about the smell.  Never did they attempt to call us back or fix what they knew about smell and tire and door handle.  One would expect a reputatble company to fix before letting it leave lot but also before selling to people in a medical crisis needing a car and on a fixed income of Social Security honor and intregity should have made them sell us a clean car as salesman stated..

The weather has been bad since we bought the car so we didn’t use but to run to store.  We waited for Big Red to call back and fix the problem.  Now we know why warranty and dings and dent was pushed, they knew there was a problem.  Cosmetic is something we could live with but tire and smell was a major problem and expected a return call about. 

Today we went on a ride to Choctaw Events center gun show.  When we were almost back home, we smelt that rubbery, plastic smell again.  None of the hubs were hot so not brake dragging.  When we lifted the hood we found the problem and one that was obvious to this non-mechanical female as oil was leaking out where there probably was a gasket onto the exhaust manifold.  They knew about this and I would not be surprised that they put in oil stop leak product to for stall us finding out about.

Their refusal to address says oceans full of things about this company.  They knew I was saving for registration and to use warranty meant a deductable.  If we fixed no registration cash and if we didn’t, we had no transportation for Tuesdays doctors spinal block.

This company is the proverbial USED CAR SCAMMER one hears about.

The finance has already called but I intend to call them back about this company and their games.

They need to fix and not charge a deductible or pay deductible at Durant Chevrolet. Either that or give us our limited $500 down that turned into $1000.  They even lied to us about what our insurance man said.  This is a very bad company.  OU should be ashamed of them using them to advertise,

Yes, it was a clean car, they washed all the oil off the engine.  Wanted to make sure we were taken care of and a good clean used car- oil off engine but back seat was filthy and stained.
