I was having an issue with my eye not seeing clearly. I called around to 3 Dr's that google recommended.

When I contacted the Eye Institute I had simple questions. Do they have openings today? How much is the visit? and can they complete a full eye exam as well?

At this time the woman explained that yes they can get me in immediately. She said the cost would be for an initial eye exam. To do a full exam for glasses etc. would have to be a different appointment most likely if they don't have time.

I asked again how much would the initial eye exam be. She quoted me $80-85. Since the other two location were at $100.00 I agreed to go forward with this office.

I arrived. I was brought to a room where I was asked a few questions about my eye problem from one of the assistants. She said she was going to put some drops in my eye to dialate them.

I then waited for 30 min for the eye Dr. to come in. He took one look at my eye said it isn't enough. put more drops in and left. He came back 25 min later (I could hear him in the hall the whole time just having casual conversation about another patient....) Once he came back in he took out a light, spent about 4 min looking into my eye. Gave me the good news that nothing was perminiate and I just needed to relax and sent me on my way.

Total interaction with a medical team was roughly 10 mins.

The rip off is when I got the bill... They charged me $285.00 for this visit!

I've tried many times to talk to someone in charge here they refuse to get on the phone. They will only speak through Bobbi in billing, who can't adjust or change anything.

When I explained that I would've never have ever come here knowing this and that it was the person that set the appointment that explained the fees wrong. They said Sorry.... (that is it. they have appologized for it, but won't make right on what I was quoted by even a penny). What is most irritating is that they told me when I first called that they can track who set up the appointment and figure out why she was quoting me prices. After 2 months of waiting they called back after another message left and told me they have no record of who set up my appointment.

I had to save to just afford the $80-85 expected. I'm not here for the whoa is me attitude many people project. I own my actions, decisions, and life outcomes responsibly and accountably. But a business that is going to tell you one thing to get you in the door, then abuse you this way and stick it to you, should not be allowed to remain in business.

Do not trust them at their word. Triple check them if you ever get an appointment here.

Resolved finally

 I walked in and got to sit down with the chief financial advisor. We came to an agreement and resolved this matter. I only wish it wouldn't have been ignored for so long, nor taken me physically standing there to get a resolution, but I'm happy that she assisted in making the situation right.
