I have bought from this online fish dealer 3 differnt times. I spent well over Three hundred dollars on three differnt orders. All three orders the fish were less then an inch big or an inch big. When you buy the fish online they tell you cost is under 10 dollars they will ask you if you want a male fish they will then add 10 dollars to the male fish on your order. Then one fish becomes a 20 dollar fish. The size of the fish you get is less then an inch or an inch in size. They advise you it's small as it is easier to ship. You then also have to pay the cost to ship the fish yourself. They pay nothing I have bought close to 11 fish from this company the last order one fish died in four days. They sent one fish that had both fins missing on both sides of the fishes body. I then called and emailed them with no response. The company gives you a few hours after the fish are delivered to your home to dispute what they sent you. A majority of the fish I have bought from this company have died in less then three months. This is not the place to buy fish from if you are buying online they do not stand by there fish they do not answer your calls or return your emails as they have done to me. Buyer beware do not waste your money the way I did

Mike thanks for adding a response to my report. I think my lack of exsperince really started with buying from blue grass to begin with. Selling fish with missing fins was clearly a mistake on my part. As I now only uses daves rare fish my lack of exspenice as only gotten better either way when I stopped buy from from blue grass my fish had all of there fins and live longer great input by you just another reason to stir clear of blue grass great response

I never buy large fish online as anyone with experience who wants to start an aquarium knows that you don't buy larger fish. This increases the changes of tension and fighting in a tank.
When starting an aquarium, especially with any type of cichlid, it's best practices to buy small fish, select yoru variety and then size your tank and make your purchases simultaneously.
I aim for fish that are 1½ - 2", this way they all grow up together and the experience is longer, you get to watch your fish grow, you determine if the fish get along at a young age, make your adjustments and even fish that are not compatible may get along if they grow up together, albeit I typically only have species only tanks with dither fish.
It's also important ot realize that fish should be ordered using overnight service unless you have a pro that uses a chemical to sedate the fish so that they are too stressed.
It's also essential that fish be quarantined. I was randomly checking this vendor and was so shocked to see such a negative review when I have received nothing but the best service from BlueGrass Aquatics. I have purchased 10+ fish and they're still alive after several years.
I think people that buy fish online don't realize they're buying live animals. That's sad to hear that people would complain that a fish is too small. That smells like lack of experience all over it. I don't think it's the vendor's responsiblity to hand-hold every customer. They would never get any work done. I've been keeing fish for nearly 30 years, so I guess I know better?
I hope this helps someone out.
Mike
