Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW

EDitor's UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to Boca Beauty Academy for its full commitment to quality customer service.

Ripoff Report's discussions with Boca Beauty Academy have uncovered an ongoing dedication by the company to total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect that the company will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any concerns. Boca Beauty Academy listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and become more efficient as a company in the services offered and the support for those services.

Boca Beauty Academy's owner, Mr. Jack Bragin, has informed us that his personal philosophy is that his students career success are his personal mission. As a postsecondary learning institution, Mr. Bragin feels it is critical to listen to his students and for his administration to respond timely. By always putting his students customers first, Mr. Bragin hopes to maintain Boca Beauty Academy as the leading school for Beauty, Barber, Wellness, and Fitness in South Florida.

One of the things Ripoff Report learned in the course of its extensive review is that typical student feedback reads, "Boca Beauty Academy truly care about their students and do not operate like a typical bureaucratic school. Our evaluation disclosed a consistently high performance in job placement, and student graduation rates. We are very pleased with the responsiveness that the employees show us. They are serious about meeting commitments, and deliver their classes in a fun but highly structured, well organized classroom setting.

Boca Beauty Academy is Ripoff Report Verified
Ripoff Report Verified™ .. part of Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program.A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business..

The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Jack Bragin during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases towards Boca Beauty Academy.

Boca Beauty Academy is a nationally accredited beauty and wellness school that has been in business for nearly three decades. Jack Bragin went on to state the following about their program, "we satisfy the vocational needs of the community in the spa, beauty, and wellness industry. We have been graduating people who occupy areas in the fields of laser hair removal, massage therapy, barbering, make up artistry, nail technology, also personal training, master fitness coach, and personal fitness coach. So it is really an amalgamation of the spa beauty and wellness sector." The graduates of Boca Beauty Academy become professionally licensed and qualify to sit for their state board examinations.

Leads for Boca Beauty Academy are primarily obtained through word of mouth, search engine management, and a lot of social media. Potential students interested in their services will initially meet with an authorized admissions representative. These admissions representatives have to take annual continuing education courses in order to work with Boca Beauty Academy. Once they have gone over the types of services they offer, "it is determined that they have a funding gap in order to be able to fund their education. They will be placed with a financial aid representative who will review their needs, determine if there are any scholarship opportunities available, and then we try to bridge that gap and see if are qualifies from a motivational standpoint and an academic standpoint to be successful at our institution."

During the onsite inspection Mr. Bragin was asked to describe a situation where a student was not satisfied with the level of service or products they received. Mr. Bragin stated, "we do a lot of services on people from fixed income back grounds or low income back grounds where they come to our student clinic. Students have to perform a certain number of services on the public in order to meet their graduation criteria. They are students and some of them are learning. The reason they aren’t licensed professionals is they are learning along the way. Ultimately you are going to run into some individuals who expect a licensed performance, and are not as tolerant to people who are learning along the way."

While situations like this rarely occur Boca Beauty Academy is always willing to work with the patrons of their beauty school. Mr. Bragin went on to explain, "so typically what we try to do is a make good scenario if they identify that an issue has resulted and they come back that day or the next day we will color correct their hair, things like that and try to rectify the situation."

When asked to comment on the complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Bragin stated the following, "if the opportunity was presented before someone took to the Internet we are going to jump through hoops to make sure that within reason they are accommodated. The unfortunate thing is that the vast major of cases people are just filled with emotion, and then they take to the Internet before it is escalated up to the right point. We do have a few layers of management where hopefully they would see the responsiveness, and if it got to me they would surely see responsiveness to at least try to accommodate them to the greatest point possible."

In order to assure future patrons Boca Beauty Academy is accreditation by the following: National Association of Sports Medicine, Florida State Massage Therapy Board, Florida Electrology Association.

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the consumer per the request of Ripoff Report, Mr. Bragin stated, "we put a more friendly enrollment agreement together which is the contract between the student and the institution that makes it more apparent. No printing on the back of the document. Bolding different areas that could perhaps could perhaps be something they could be confused about. So making a more consumer friendly contract between the two parties. And then also continuing to upgrade the level of quality of instructors. We are always interviewing and looking for a better bread of person to teach here."

Boca Beauty Academy is proud to be a part of Ripoff Reports Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program, "I think it is conducted in the proper fashion we can cure a lot of the ills that are out there. I think what it with hopefully, and ultimately do is mitigate the emotion and put the energy into some more constructive avenues to develop a common ground you can mediate as opposed to just people venting out of anger. This will at least channel the grievance to the appropriate level of senior management. And then we have an opportunity to meet them in the middle and that is all you can hope for in a conflict."

" We are the preeminent Nationally Accredited post-secondary institution in South Florida for Beauty/Barber, Spa, Wellness, and Fitness related Diploma programs. Boca Beauty Academy is one of only 20 recognized master Vidal Sassoon Partner schools in the United States. In addition, they are the official MAC makeup school, OPI school of Nails, and Pevonia school of Esthetics, and are accredited by the National Association of Sports Medicine.

Each campus is located on a picturesque setting directly off the highway in a safe, secure campus environment. Boca Beauty Academy's It is abundantly clear that the Faculty and Administration of this school are deeply concerned with ensuring high student satisfaction. An open door policy was observed leading all the way up to senior management and ownership. Boca Beauty Academy takes employee satisfaction seriously as well. Employee feedback and surveys reveal comments such as this, "It was observed and reported that Management has recently undertaken a sophisticated student survey system which provides ongoing feedback on student satisfaction. This process begins from the moment the student meets with Admissions and Financial Aid , during the course of their studies, and upon graduation. The school provides a wide variety of student assistance such as Financial Aid Available to those who Qualify, VA Educational Benefits, I-20 Non-immigrant Student Visas, access via Florida Prepaid and Bright Futures, amongst many other Scholarship Programs. An extensive upgrade to senior management has also occurred which has elevated the level of professionalism and responsiveness of the organization."

Ripoff Report was pleased to learn that Boca Beauty Academy's past and current approach to business is focused on its pledge to total commitment towards client and employee satisfaction.

Boca Beauty Academy recognizes that complaints posted on Ripoff Report (whether true or not) are issues that need to be addressed, not ignored. If handled correctly, complaints can be valuable learning opportunities. With the feedback generated by Ripoff Report's review, Boca Beauty Academy has made organizational changes allowing its clients and employees a more streamlined approach to problem resolution and a commitment to a great client experience.

Boca Beauty Academy Internet, Florida

I should've known right from the tour; that began with a mostly naked, badly tattooed, "receptionist" with horrible hair extentions popping out everywhere (making me question the ability of the instuctors). Not to mention the actual tour by Chris, was a complete joke. He had nothing to say of any value. It was just alot of metaphors not even pertaining to the school or even education in any way.

The main subject matter was not curriculum, job placement, or even school policies at all. It was right to the core of concern of the owner and staff, $TUITION$. Being that I lived so close to the school I chose to overlook all of the red flags that warned me not to enroll, and signed up anyway (BIG MISTAKE). AFTER enrolling in the $14,500 Cosmetology class I learned that If I didn't finish this course in 10 months I would be charged $10/hour until completion which usually takes one year.

On the first day I was thrown into Chapter 13, which was half wittedly discussed in between personal stories about the instructor's personal life for 45 minutes. That is all you were aloud to study from the book each day. The rest of the day consisted of blasting disturbing music in one room while trying to learn hands-on with no sense of direction. When they notice you've been there for about a week, they try to get you to move into the more advanced room to work on actual clients( against State Regulations, which is 400 hours).

As if the tuition is not enough; the receptionist/street walker etc., makes a commission off of selling services done by the students which explained to me why she had the customers lined up like cattle in the mornings, rushing us out of class and into the "Clinic". When you choose to refuse to do services they threaten to send you home or threaten to not give you credit for your hours that day.

To make things worse we were left with no instructors ALOT of the time while doing very advanced services, and expected to know the steps of these processes without previous instruction. There was one incident that led to a womans hair literally falling out in clumps and left with welts on her head from a perm solution left on nearly twice the time it should've been, due to lack of instuctors anywhere to be found.

The school makes them sign a waiver before services are rendered which protects them not YOU! Students, then at the  end of the day are expected to do laborous cleaning such as scrubbing toilets, mopping entire school, emptying every staff members garbage cans for them, without any kind of real cleaning supplies; because the owner refuses to have a real cleaning service clean the school.

So basically, you are paying Jack Bragin to be his slave! Smart guy, huh? When I wised up to the madness of the school, I decided enough is enough after about a month and requested a refund and to transfer to a normal school and take my credit for the hours I earned. I was accused of "dropping out of school" and told that they cannot refund "drop outs". I was given the run around to transfer my hours as well so I was delayed in starting a new school for about 2 months.

When they finally gave me my official hours for my new school it came with a condition that I pay off the remaining balance! Insane! I now owe the school $13,000 for education I never even got as well as having to start from scratch at a new school! If you are considering enrolling here RECONSIDER! I can't wait to see the rebuttal Jack or his very well paid Attorney come up with to defend themselves from the TRUTH!

You know you are wrong! Sell the school or shut down! I hope this will save at least one person from throwing their money away to this con-"man". Yes, I was an actual student who chooses to remain anonymous to avoid any further repercussions from this "school". I will not mention the school I transferred to but I can say it was about half as much money and about twice the learning with none of the problems! Good Luck to you all!

warning, SCAM!

AUTHOR: josie resnick - (USA)

This school is only about the money, don't give them any.  If you notice the receptionist looks like a (((REDACTED))), and the "Director" acts like a school principal, and has been fired and brought back.  They lie about everything, and in my case held onto my license paperwork while lying to me that my paperwork was filed.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND ESPECIALLY YOUR MONEY.

This school is a sham and a disgrace!  You are wasting your money, time and energy.  You will not get job placement, all you will get are excuses and lies.  I wasted several thousand dollars there, no job.

#4 REBUTTAL Owner of company

#1 School for Ethical Conduct- Boca Beauty Academy

AUTHOR: Integrity is our #1 Priority - (USA)

As the owner of this school, let me state that our school has NEVER BEEN UNDER ANY STATE INVESTIGATION WHATSOEVER BY THE COSMETOLOGY BOARD.

This is information is 100% false and innacurate and downright defamatory.

Our #1 goal is to provide the highest levels of integrity and customer service. Every student is provide with the owners direct contact information.

Unfortunately the author chose both to remain anonomous and to make no attempt to address their greivance with ownership.

We always strive to be responsive to our students needs and had this person approached us in a mature, professional manner we would have been eager to resolve any perceived grievances.

Sadly we still do not know whom this person is so we cannot help them. There are so many factual inaccuracies contained in the authors report that it would take pages to respond.

I would certainly invite the author to contact me directly so that we can discuss her issues and concerns and hopefully rectify them asap.

Thank you for taking the time to read our perspective.
