ebay feedback scam exposed.

AUTHOR: Kristy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 05, 2006

file a complaint online with ebay. Asking them to remove the negative feedback.. they will do it in certain circumstances (for example if the user acct of the person in question has been canceled..) all for free..

there is also squaretrade. which has a feedback removal service that works directly with ebay there a few more conditions with it that they will remove.. (for example you wish to use an online mediator to discuss the issue through online messageboard.. the other party refuses.. so the feedback they left you is automatically removed) but that service costs $10

one important thing about ebay feedback.. which would you consider to be better? 100% feedback rating from 100 users.. or 98.5% feedback from 100 users?

the 98.5% is better ..why? this user has been on ebay over 5 years.. the people leaving him feedback .. some are new with 4-10 rating others have 100 or 10,000 ratings.. there is a variety

the user that recieved 100% from 100 users.. has only been on ebay 1yr, most of the accounts leaving him feedback have a rating of 0 or under 10.. (all new accounts) some of those accounts are "no longer registered on ebay' also look at the auctions in question for both users.. are they all $5 & $10 items.. or is it a variety? a $2500 item here.. a $50 there.. a $200 item etc..

anyone with a feedback rating Very High like 5000 - 25,000 look at how fast the rating is increasing.. if the users rating is going up by over 200+ a day... and they are buying store items for $1 it's more then likely a scam.. lastly NEVER Buy from someone with PRIVATE Feedback .. even if it is 100% positive.. insist they unhide the feedback or buy elsewhere..

some sellers do list as private auctions (where you can't see others who bid on the item) I used to think this was a scam.. but it's actually to protect you the buyer.. sometimes people contact the high bidder /winner pretending to be the seller asking for payment.. you pay.. then a few days later get a call from the real seller asking when your planning to pay.. that's why you only send messages through ebay messaging to avoid being scammed.
