Briarwood Square Apartments In Stanton California Horrible place to live, they lie about everything! Stanton California

We live at Briarwood square apartments for 1 year and this place is horrible. When we mover in, Brenda the manager who since has been fired, told us on move-in the carpet was a year old, 2 weeks latter after moving on stains were coming out of the carpet, ugly black stains. I called maintenance dept and he told me he would mark it on the check in list, we had 3 different water leaks, maint dept didn't finish the dry wall repair in the bathroom, nor painted it. after 5 different complaints about the looks of our bathroom walls, they came and completed the work except behind the bathroom door (stayed that way till move out. Back in Aug 2007, we had a terrible heat wave where the temp in our apartment was well over 100 degrees, for 2 days we had to suffer, with me almost ending up in the emergency room for heat stroke, my husband went to Brenda who advised to him that the air conditioning that was not working is not an emergency and we would have to wait till the maint supervisor to come back from vacation. 4 days later Brenda called an air conditioning co. this was the second attempt to fix AC. The company found a large leak...go figure the maint man couldn't even do that!
They offered us another year lease, with a rent increase of 300.00 per month for a 2 bed 1 bath....needless to say, we do not like their anymore. The new managers who came in about 2 months before we moved were having a lot of complaints. when we moved out, they sent us letter of $ owed. 1700.00 worth! Yes they did change for the carpet, which was old when we moved and and reported, nothing was ever done. so I drove our to Briarwood apt when I received this letter and asked them why did the charge for the old carpet, I was told that they can't do anything about this and I would have to call Corp in Denver CO. So I did.....they asked me "do you have pictures of this carpet when you moved in and seen large black stains 2 weeks later, I told them no but it had been reported to managers office. they told me sorry without any pictures we would have to pay......ya right! the crime at this apart complex is less to desire, police driving around all the time, pool gate lock broken, took them 1 1/2 months to fix, was with hopes no small children would be left alone playing around the pool. parking for guest, is in no way possible, you have to park down the street. This place was they worst I and my family (children) have ever had to live in and I would strongly suggest a BEWARE SIGN on this property! Oh and the maintenance guys ate very perverted, they were always looking at my daughter who is 13 yrs old. I did call the police, and they had other complaints about maint. workers doing the same......sick! see ripoffreport.com for others who have complained.
