I purchased a new Cal Spas Hot Tub from an authorized retailer. The exterior redwood "cabinet is supposed to have a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, the cabinet started to warp and peel within the first year. Cal Spas came out to "band-aid" the cabinet at one time, but has since told me the cabinet is no longer under warranty. How is a lifetime warranty supposed to expire? I understand Cal Spas makes a replacement cabinet out of composite materials, and I would like Cal Spas to swap out the defective redwood cabinet for one that will not warp.

Cal-Spas cabinet rip-off

Unfortunately, the cabinet was defective upon delivery. Your authorized retailer came out to my house several times during the first year. After 12 months of making repair after repair after repair, they finally said they could not longer do anything, except sell me a replacement. Perhaps the cabinet should have been replaced ON THE FIRST DAY - the day of delivery! HINDSIGHT: I should have refused delivery, but your authorized retailer told me they could fix the cabinet. When I called Cal Spas Corporate - I was again told to buy a new cabinet. The cost of the cabinet is more than HALF the cost of the entire hot tub. Since there were so many documented repairs to the cabinetry while under warranty - wouldn't it have made sense to offer a FREE replacement cabinet to me while it was under warranty? Why were so many attempts made to effect repairs - which did not work (other than to save money)? Okay, so the warranty has expired - but do you have to be so rude to tell me "it's your (my) fault", when it CLEARLY was NOT my fault. Common Sense and good customer relations would have had this cabinet replaced free of charge under warranty. At this point, I do not see why you cannot work with me, to offer some sort of discount on a replacement cabinet. It is NOT my fault I received a defective cabinet. Good will goes a long way!

Thank you for choosing Cal Spas for your home resort needs. We apologize to hear that you had any problems with your redwood cabinet. It is recommended that Redwood cabinets get treated with a weather protectant or sealant to prevent any future problems. At this time, there is no Lifetime Warranty and never has been a lifetime Warranty on the spa cabinet, but Cal Spas always backs up our products and strive for 100% Customer Satisfaction. There maybe a 5 year Warranty or 90-day Warranty depending on the model you purchased. Please contact a Customer Care representative at 1-800-225-7727 and provide us with a serial number of your spa so we can better assist you with this case. We look forward to resolving this matter amicably and in a timely manner.
