I don't know about all you folks out there but I have had my fill of daily annoying phone calls from the likes of the FOP and other telmarketers (some with fake phone numbers). Since our Verizon digital screens out blocked, unknown and private calls, some scammers have come up with the clever idea to piggyback on fake numbers or block their numbers when called back.

Regarding FOP, they are, in my humble opinion FOS! These folks are a joke, they are pushy, agressive and are not forthcoming when pressed. We have inquired numerous times as to whether or not they have "any" ties to the union and guess what? They are "not aware" of any such involvement. That implies to me that they are either stupid or liars. Nor will they reveal how much of my donation goes to the actual charity. Again, stupid or lying?

Here's a fun trick...My cell is now linked to my home phone (we only keep the home phone to give THAT number to enities we suspect may misuse that number). Any time they or any other number calls my house my cell also rings. I answer the house phone while dialing their actual number back logged in my cell. I let them hear the outcome while on my house phone, ie..busy signal, mailbox full, the number you called is not in service, etc. Then I say to them, "you hear that? That is me calling you....Why would I ever want to do business with people that don't even call from a legitimate number!!! Does that do any good? Seriously doubt it but it's fun for me.

BTW recently had a incredibly rude telemarketer call me back and inform me that charities are exempt from the do not call list, really? Did that just happen? You called me back after I told you I was on that list to inform me that your b.s. charity (be wary when they use the words, kids/children/cancer/police/fire or worse a combination of of these descriptions) can basically call and annoy anyone anytime? So done!

California State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police

AUTHOR: KLS - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 30, 2013

After receiving a phone call from the titled organization above in September of 2013, I can confirm that the call is "high pressure", and leaves no way to say "no". I went a step further to check to see if the organization was listed by the Better Business Bureau under their charities heading. Apparently the BBB has submitted a request for information from this organization but received no response from their inquiries. This information led me to decline a charitable contribution. There are many more places to drop that donation to organizations who are honestly able to place information about how much of the donation will be given to recipients and how much is soaked up in administration.
