Campbell Property Management Sent out a Misleading Email in regards to Residents providing a key to their homes Deerfield Beach Florida

I live in an elderly community in Palm Springs, FL. I am over 60 years with health issues myself. This is one of the examples of how Campbell Property Management Personnel abuses the residents, and really should be unacceptable especially when done to the elderly residents.

Email Sent Out By Campbell: Per FL statue 718. The association has the right to retain a key to all units pursuant to its right of access. Failure to supply a key to the association will subject the unit owner for the cost of entry. The Association needs a key to unit on file any emergencies. (If applicable) please supply keys to office.

The 2020 Florida Statutes 718.111 The association.— (5)  RIGHT OF ACCESS TO UNITS.— (a) The association has the irrevocable right of access to each unit during reasonable hours, when necessary for the maintenance, repair, or replacement of any common elements or of any portion of a unit to be maintained by the association pursuant to the declaration or as necessary to prevent damage to the common elements or to a unit. 

Where does it say association has the right to retain a key to all units pursuant to its right of access? Saying that Per FL Statute 718 is misleading among insinuating other issues. Audrey as Secretary of the Board forwarded my email to them for me since they sent it in a way one could not respond.

I also talked to Campbell Corporate office in regards to this misleading email who tried saying it was Board Approved even though Board Members that I talked to did not know about it until after it was sent.

I informed Campbell Corporate that I am here 365 days a year, so that they can knock on my door. Others can leave a key with someone that they trust if they so choose and then inform the office on site that has it in case of any situations that may.

When I spoke to Campbell Property Management Chief Operations Officer about this matter, his response was approximately as follows: You are right about the keys. We do have the right of access, so we can just kick in your door. I have a witness to this this statement also.

This should be of great concern to residents of all ages but especially to the elderly who usually has the most health issues and disabilities.

Who knows when Campbell Property Management Personnel would decide when it is appropriate for them to kick in your door?

Residents that are residing under the Management of Campbell should now reasonably fear for their well-being and safety. Such this kicking in the door threat behavior interferes with the peaceful possession and proper enjoyment of the premises by the residents to such a degree so as to constitute an impermissible nuisance.

I know that I now fear for my safety and well-being, especially since I have been voicing complaints and posting negative reviews in regards to Campbell Property Management Personnel behavior.
