Campos Chartered Law Firm Company scammed me out of $2400.00 Syosset New York

I am responding to some posts that I have seen about the company Campos Chartered Law firm. I am totally amazed at how they plot against people by calling themselves attorneys and scamming people out of money by offering help.

I actually got the company's information off the TV, like others who have written reports said they did. It looked so inviting and appealing to have creditors stop calling me.

I lost my job back in February of 2007 and it was around October of the same year that I called this company to help me get out of credit card debt. I really thought they would help me. I was so overwhelmed and stressed out by all the phone calls and harassing messages that I thought calling this company would help me. When in fact they made my life worse and my credit score lower than I thought it would ever go.

When i called, Campos said they would negotiate on my behalf and settle my debt for less. I wasn't even so interested about settling my debt for less as the idea of cleaning up my credit because I was now able to pay for my debt.

We set up monthly payment plans, i signed e-contracts and we were all set. I sent Campos all my creditors information, I even called my creditors myself and directed them to call Campos. Even when I got new things in the mail I was diligent about faxing the information over to Campos. I didnt want to fall off track with Campos.

The company did absolutely nothing for me. I started getting concerned In June of 2008 when I called and asked them who they had settled with so far and they said no one. They said I didnt have enough money in escrow to pay anyone. I was appauled because I had been paying them since November. I should have had at least $1500 to settle something. At that point they started telling me about all these fees that they were assesing towards my account. I obviously had no clue. I cancelled my contract with them, they said it was fine and the money I did have in escrow they would mail back to me. I asked for a full refund and they said no, that my contract had prevented me from getting that. I told them they did nothing for me and left it at that. It is now October, I have still not received my refund check (which is my money) and placed a call to Campos. They explained to me that there was a website that I could go to that would tell me why I couldn't get my refund check at this time.

How is it possible that they are legally allowed to withhold my money from me? The website showed me that there is now an investigation going on because this company rips people off, but I still can't get my refund even though I asked for the refund before the Florida courts made a ruling.

Anyone who sees this Company stay far away from it. They ripped me off and now i cant even get my money back and they did absolutely nothing for me. If anyone has any information as to how to be apart of this lawsuit, please let me know. I feel as though I am not going to get my money back on my own and have come to grips with the loss because I am now back at square one. My email is (((Redacted)))
