More abuse from Cam's Auto

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 21, 2016

Noone here is named Mike.  We have a whole list of videos of mechanics abusing customer cars here as well as making threats on customers to leave their vehicles in the street to be towed; nonetheless recordings of blackmail threats from the overweight owner.

Response from Cams Automotive

AUTHOR: Cams Automotive - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, April 11, 2016

Although this report was filed "anonymously", we are well aware of who this person is. Mike B. has been attempting to "bash us" on the internet for the last month as he threatened to do by saying, "Wait until you see what I am going to do you on the internet". His complaint with the BBB was tossed out and his Yelp review was removed. Every complaint has some new fabricated side of the story in an attempt to tarnish our reputation, and this review follows the same suit.

First and foremost, I will address his accusations accordingly. He repeatedly accuses us of "blackmail" just as he accused us of "extortion" while he was on the phone with us. There was no blackmailing or extorting of any kind. He had his truck towed in when it broken down. We diagnosed the problem and gave him the price to fix it. He did not like the price of $600.00 that was quoted to replace his fuel pump and fuel filter. He was upset because we declined to do the job for $400.00 and/or let him make payments.

Mike was given the same option as we give every customer that comes in, accept the estimate and allow us to fix it or decline the repair and remove the vehicle. He perceives this as extortion and blackmail. In reality, it is the way every business operates. At no time did we threaten to "DUMP MY (HIS) VEHICLE IN THE STREET AND LEAVE IT TO BE GUTTED". We simply gave him the option to allow us to repair it, or take the vehicle elsewhere.

Mike is correct when he said that he was hung up on. As is any customer that gets as verbally abusive, threatening and vulgar as he did because we refused to discount the work and allow him to make payments. He was informed that if he continued to act this way towards us that we would exercise our right to refuse service to him and ask him to remove his vehicle from the shop. This is well within my right as a business owner to not subject my company, employees or customers to someone who we feel is a threat.

Mike accepted the estimate of $600.00 and authorized us to work on his vehicle. We replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. The total cost came below our estimate and he was charged $576.10. When he came in to pick up his vehicle, he paid the bill in full but continued with the verbal abuse and threatening behavior. He was informed that his vehicle was ready to go and was asked to leave the shop. Before he walked out he stated "Wait until you see what I am going to do to you online"

Mike claims to have video footage of one of our guys damaging components to his vehicle. To our knowledge, such footage does not exist and it is our belief that it does not exist. If such footage does exist, I ask Mike to present it as evidence to validate this claim. Furthermore, his vehicle was repaired in December of 2015 and this claim is being made in April of 2016. Almost 4 months have passed and he is claiming that we did something to make his vehicle break down.

In closing, we have been in business for 6 years. We have an A+ rating with the BBB and have never had a complaint. Our online reputation is spotless and this is the ONLY negative posting that we have ever had about us. On our website you can check us out on our "research page". It shows every place that we are listed and have reviews. We are not sure why Mike B. has chosen our shop to attack online, but for some reason he has. We understand that most of the time it is the consumer that is a victim of wrong doing by a business, however in some cases such as this, the business is a victim of a customer finds the need to act in the manner that he did.

Thank you very much.
