On 8/28/04 we went to Candrell Car Care in Mesquite, TX after coming from the transmission shop next door to get the A/C checked out and the service man David Smith took a look at the Mustang & said that it may be this or that but he would check out the problem & call us back shortly.

He called back to say the cost of repairs to change the A/C system from R12 to R134A including replace high side line o-rings at condensor would cost a total of $316.40 including tax and on the comments of my receipt it shows leak at frt. a/c coup & condensor line at hs.

We told him to go ahead wth the repairs and asked if this would repair any leaks & he said that this is where he sees the leaks. We had just spent over $200 previously at another shop in Mesquite and the R12 leaked out at a cost of $75 per can times 2.

He called us shortly & said the auto was ready and that it was putting out 40 deg. air. The a/c was fine until yesterday and it quit cooling. We took it back to the shop today and now they say the line to the condensor ir rubbing something & getting a hole & leaking there. The condensor is new which including this line - which we have the receipt for. Then he says the compressor has a seal out.

We take the car back in today and they will gladly fix the repairs but it is at our cost. I called back up to the shop to talk to the repair man - David Smith & he said that he made it very clear (which all three of us must have been deaf to what he said to us on 8/28/04 since none of us heard this statement) THAT THEY DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY LEAKS & WILL NOT COVER LEAKS NOR DO THEY CHECK FOR LEAKS UNLESS YOU SPECIFY THEY DO and YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THIS. I just hung up on him.

I called back to talk to the Mgr. Mike who was so RUDE and UGLY about just trying to find out who the Dist. Mgr. is over their store or who is in charge. He gave me his name Rick & said that he didn't know his last name & never asked him before. He would not discuss the situation with me but said to call his boss Rick.

Rick is unavailable and they are very snappy about giving information out about what time he may return or on what day he may return.

I pulled this company up on the BBB and they have an UNSATISFACTORY RECORD WITH THE BUREAU DUE TO ONE OR MORE UNANSWERED COMPLAINTS REGARDING DISSATISFACTION WITH THE COMPANY SERVICE

Go figure. If you use them make sure your guarantee on your receipt means more than mine did. OBVIOUSLY....
