i received a call from capitalfirst and said i would read their information package after i gave them my check no. and acct no. i received the package-didn't care for it and called them then next day and cancelled. i was told i would not be billed. that was 7/31/02. i called my bank 8/1/02 and 59.95 & 99.95 had been taken without my authorization.

i called capitalfirst and they more or less told me i was lying. they said i had had 7 day in which to cancel and they had sent my pkg to me on 7/10/02. i had thrown pkg in garbage and had to retrive it they told me;because it was to mail the whole thing back to them-how silly. i looked at the metered stamp and it was posted 7/25/02. i called the company who does their mailing(smartmail services). they took my name and address & told me there were many other complaints. they also said the pkg was not mailed until 7/25 pm.

i was told by capitalfirst to mail everyting back to 18495 so dixie highway #228 miami fl 33157 with a return authorization code. are they crazy. i called 411 info and operator said there was nothing listed for that name or address.

i am waiting on my bank to send m an affidavit and letter showing money was taken out of my account as i have already received this month's stmt and have no proof. my bank will deal with them i hope. otherwise i will sue as i am on disability and this was my food & gas money for the month. what really made me mad was they made a fool of me. don't think it can't happen to you. if these reports don't get them-GOD will.

i do want my money back. i am taking copies of the letter and the mailing label to prove they didn't send it when they claim they did since they offer a 7 day trail time to cancel. hope this letter helps. i am native american and sure hate to get too angry at them. let's hope better business bureau or some government agency and close them down. thank you.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

THEY WILL NEVER STOP DEBITING ..close your account!

AUTHOR: Donna - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 02, 2002

Jean. CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT ASAP. I know from experience this is the only thing you can do. I had Social Security directly deposited, and it went into my NEW account the following month. Do NOT worry about sending ANYTHING BACK TO THEM! DO NOT TRY TO CALL THEM, just CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT and file fraud affidavit at your bank. THEN>>>>File complaints with the FTC at :WWW>FTC.GOV and PHONEBUSTERS at WWW.PHONEBUSTERS.COM, you can also call them at 1-888-495-8501. PhoneBusters is in Canada. CONTACT THEM

DON'T send them that copy!!!!

Read the rest of the reports here--they WANT your bank statement. It's a scam on top of the scam. Go to your bank--you should have 60 days to file an affidavit of fraud--you can get your money back from the bank--you must also keep almost close it completely.

They aren't finished with you yet. Not until you close that account. I know this is tough, but there is no other way to stop them.

File with your State Attorney General's office asap after you file a Rip-off Report here on this web site so others will know. Tell them in that report that there are complaints in other states, too.
