Once again Capital One Canada is back on here with another serious issue.
I applied for a credit limit increase (EMERGENCY FUND INCREASE) Because I wanted to rent a vehicle to travel to my aunts funeral as she had died 3 days before.
All I wanted was a $100 increase just to have them hold a security deposit, ONLY $100........! And they stated NO we would not be able to do that.
THEN WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY FUNDS FOR THEN..???
Due to that we could not get to my aunt's funeral at all and still have not had the money due to this, Capital One sent me a letter stating they were sorry but could not do anything.
Capital One did it again and it's horrible.

Duane,
This really isn't a rip-off. We can assume one of two things from your posting, the first is that you may have a minisule credit limit with Capital One (ie $300-500) indicating one of their secured card offerings, the second inference is that if you have a larger credit limit you are presently (or at least at the time of the writing) maxed out.
The problem here is not with Capital One, the problem is that you had an emergency and didn't have any resources to fall back on. While tragic it's hardly the fault of your credit card company.
Perhaps you should be asking WHY your credit card company is not prepared to extend you this courtesy (which is precisely what it is). If the service at Capital One is so bad you should switch to another provider. If your credit is inadequate to obtain a card with a different issuer then you have the answer as to why Capital One wouldn't increase your credit limit, even temporarily.

Where are all the reports against friends and family that wouldn't lend you the measly $100 if it was so little and such an issue that you had to post this ridiculous report? No one owes you anything.
