Capital Vacations D.b.a Bill Browns Travel ripoff free period ended prior to receiving documentation billed $59.95 Largo Florida

I received a telemarketing phone call at work in mid-May and was told that I would have a free 30 day trial period to review a travel package and that the documentation would be sent for me to review. I did not receive the documents in the mail until around 06/17/04, but was billed $59.95 against my checking account on 06/08/04.

I called their toll free number [888-824-7675] on 06/09/04 to cancel the service and to ask why my checking account had been charged. I was given a cancellation number and was told that I should send a letter to Capital Vacations to obtain a refund.

My hope for a speedy refund has been dampened by the experience of others making similar reports to Ripoffreport.com about this company. My experience of being billed prior to receiving the promised paperwork (paperwork with a free trial experation date that had passed [06/14/04] before I even received it!) is on point with most of the other reports agaist this company.

Only time will tell if Capital Vacations will make good on their promise. I will not hold my breath, and will be seeking all legal and proceedural means to get the return of my money. Future developments will be added to this report.
