Company sent out email stating they were thinking about cancelling the agility show due to a hurricane in the gulf of mexico.
The hurricane was headed for Beaumont and the show was in Hutto, Tx - more than 250 miles away from where the storm was supposed to land.
The company cashed all of the checks for entry forms after sending out the email stating they were considering cancelling the show.
The next day, the show was cancelled.
The reasons the company gave were ...
1. a tree could fall on the road - there are two roads into the facility
2. There might be traffic getting to the show
3. The evacuee's needed the hotel rooms - when in actuality there were vacancies at the hotel throughout the weekend.
4. the power could go out and a dog could hurt themselves
5. the facility had already rented it's space for evacuation dogs - when in actuality there were NO evacuation dogs.
One of the judges who was supposed to judge in Hutto, TX was also schelduled to judge in Odessa, TX at the same time.
Many emails have been sent to the company requesting refund. They will not refund the money because it was an "Act of God"; however the act of god was over 250 miles away and did not impact Hutto, TX at all.
