My children and i wanted to try Captain Benny's Half Shell Oyster Bar in stafford TX on Murphy Road. The food was ok although there were shells in the stuffed crab making it difficult to eat but after our meal for the 4 of us we were presented with a check amount that seemed correct for 65.37.

After giving my credit card and the bill to the waitress she returned with the cc sales slip to sign. Upon its review I was charged 77.27. When confronting the waitress about the over charge I was told the origional slip she had given us earlier was just an estimate.

I then complained to the manager who stated that 77.27 was the bill amount and that was what I was to pay. He did not research the ticket for accuracy nor did he show any concern for the possibility of a potiential error.

I made several requests for the origional sales slip so that I could compare it to the new more expensive one the waitress had created. I was told it was lost and it didnt matter. The manager seemed to agree with her and demanded payment of the 77.27.

After reviewing the newly overcharged sales ticket I found that Captain Benny's Half Shell Oyster Bar also charged me for an additional meal. They did then after showing them I arrived with 4 guests and was leaving with 4 guests would not have had a need for a 5th meal refund and correct the ticket.

If you plan to eat here watch your Credit card, as any ticket presented to you is, in Captain Benny's Half Shell Oyster Bar's eyes, just an estimate.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Would never happen

I worked for Capt. Bennny's for over ten years and can confidently say that this would never intintionally happen there. The people running this establishment are if nothing else, completly honest. I would bet that this was a simple mistake and that the manager would have been happy to fix it. Capt. Benny's is a Great place to eat
