Bought a Lexus LX470 from this company at a premium price and disguised issues that are now truly revealing themselves. I came across to this dealer by way of eBay as a "5 star seller" and Dave is the sales manager for this outfit. He told me he only buys the best low mileage LX models available through auction. Originally looked at an lx450 but decided upon a later year lx470. I'm now a couple of months in and will lay out the discovered issues (keep in mind I had lemon squad inspect this car prior to buying).

New cv boot, new fuel filler neck that did not fix the prominent fuel smell outside vehicle and the dealer can't resolve either, spray undercoating they applied (unbeknownst to me prior to sale) is now peeling way revealing extensive rust, body rust around multiple wheel wells one of which was hidden by paint over.

My issue is that they are selling these vehicles as pristine, collector cars and hiding the flaws as well as using the eBay site to advertise as a trustworthy operation. I did not find that to be the case.

Learn from my stupidity and avoid this dealer.

Latest Car Cheer Lexus update

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, January 10, 2021

Thought I'd send a final update on the LX470. Since my last post I had to replace the rotted, rusty fuel tank (it started leaking fuel) and I discovered startling body rust that I have had to pay to cut out, that and paint over (discovered tip of the iceberg when the touch up paint started bubbling. Money Spent....5K. Don't take a chance on these guys!!

Last Note on European-cars/Car Cheer

AUTHOR: Rob - (United States)

Clearly, I am willing to put my buying mistakes in plain view. However, a dealer using an eBay (brand image) storefront and marketing itself as finding "the best available" of a product and then selling as having done complete and thorough inspection does not give them a pass.

As for reputable mechanics having looked at this vehicle; I own an 89 lancruiser exclusively serviced by the same mechanic and any work is perfomed quickly and correctly so the mechanic isn't an issue.
I am, and will enjoy my Lexus, but at a much higher price than it's selling price.

Always Properly Inspect Prior to Purchase

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

The fuel odor hasn’t been resolved because the problem hasn’t been properly diagnosed. You need to have it repaired by a qualified mechanic. It is possible a previous owner (not the seller) is responsible for the undercoating.

Apparently the vehicle was not properly inspected prior to purchase. It isn’t the seller’s fault that you paid someone to perform a poor inspection. Enjoy your Lexus.
