Car-id DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CAR ID WITHOUT READING REVIEWS New York, Internet
*Consumer Comment: They are most likely a scam...
*Consumer Suggestion: Ripoff indeed
Car-id scammed me for over $2000 dollars for an escalade conversion kit from extreme dimensions . the original cost was 1250 then additional shipping brokerage duty storage etc..etc... " 1988-98 chev pickup complete Escalade conversion kit." Is what i thought i was buying . when the order finally got to my house, there were two fender covers NOT fenders as described in the add, a grill and bumper cover with no mounting brackets or mounting hardware. The hood has no latch. costumer service is NO help at all they tell you professional instal required. the kit is absolutely useless and a rip off. $2000 dollars worth of scrap fiber glass EPIC FAIL CAR-ID is a scam.

You could get that stuff from a junkyard for less than 100$ and the fenders would be real and the hood would have a latch.
That said, you won't be able to turn a Chevy from that time period into a Caddy for two grand unless exterior cosmetics is all you're after and even then, it would be superficial. Even though both vehicles use the same frame they have different suspension, different interiors, different soundproofing, etc. Nowadays however the differences are much less apparent but that's because Chevies are more upscale... and a lot more expensive than they used to be. Perhaps that's why folks who buy them like them as they are.
