What a waste of time - sat for over an hour for an appraisal of my near perfect car to have them low low low ball offer me $8,000 less than one that was identical sitting on the lot. I understand capitalism and what it takes to run a company but the offer was not even in a range that would make sense to sell it to them.  Don;t waste your time with this company or just be prepared to give your car away and let them make the $8000. How stupid do they think we are really - what a business model - rip off the customer with a we make it easy line.

Not sure what planet you are on where free enterprise is 100% markup on used cars but people should know the real truth about the false advertising preceptions that are protrayed by CarMax.This is a true ripoff but if you don't care you are being ripped off then have at it. Hope you can give away $4500 of your hard earned money to something better than CarMax I sure can. Saved me $4500 not selling to these theives

So you understand Capitalism and what it takes to run a company.  Okay with your obvious undststanding and vast knowlege why not tell us exactly how much it costs for a Car Dealer to run a business?  While you are at it, how about telling us how much profit is acceptable to you?

I doubt even with your obvious expertise you will be able to answer either of those questions.  As if you actually realized it..this is free enterprise at it's best.  They give you a price and you are free to choose to sell or not sell your car to them.  But it gets better for you.

If you don't like what they offered, you have every opportunity to sell the car on your own.  Where YOU get to pay for any advertisement, YOU get to pay the costs associated with owning a car such as maintaining insurance and registration, YOU get to take the time to answer the phone calls or e-mails about the car, YOU get to take the time to show the car and let people test drive it, YOU get to deal with the people who want to try and "lowball" how much they want to pay, and YOU get to be the one who may get to do this for several weeks(or more) until someone buys the car.
