I answered an ad to purchase a 1998 SayRay 190 Bow rider from CARL DALTON of Tyee Yacht Club located in Portland Oregon. When I went to look at the boat, he told of SOME issues pertaining to the electrical system. Once we ageed on a price, I gave him a down payment of half of the asking price. Carl and I did agee that he would fix the issues related to several mechanical / electrical prblems as well as a few I noticed when we took the boat for a test run.
Come to find out, he gave me one excuse after another as I took his word for the dealy in obtaining the repair parts. He did fix two issues then told me the other parts were on order and I had no reason to question his integrity. More importantly, I found that three gauges need replacing, the outdrive lower unit is damged and the electrical harness needs replacing. Be aware when someone paints items that should be powdercoated.............
10 days later, I gave him the balance and he provided the title to both boat and trailer. Even wrote me a gaurantee to fix the issues with a 45 day gaurantee should I find other issues as he stated "my boat is just in great shape and I give you my word".
Bottom line, he NEVER kept his writen agreemnt to fix the problems, or shall I say the plehora of problems I found and then FORCED me to either remove the boat from the moorage forthwith, or he would take he boat and keep it as abandoned.
Come to ind out, CARL DATON recenty sold ANOTHER boat with a bad motor to another unsuspecting buyer!!!
Conclusion: BUYER BE WARE........TYEE YACHT CLUB is a JOKE and so are it's members LIKE CARL DALTON. Come to find out, Carl Dalton is not only a cheat, yet he is a TAX FRAUD from the state of WASHINGTON.

I, myself, am a member of Tyee Yacht Club. I do Know who Carl is but am not any more than a aquintance. That being said, The members that I do Know are all loyal and honest people. I am sorry that you have this issue with him but do not let this reflect on club as a whole. This is between you and him, not Tyee. I would sugest you contact one of the managers or board members and see if they have any input and can help get this resolved. We dont not want or need negitive reports about our members.
