Dept of Law and Investigation scam

AUTHOR: Linda - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I too have also been a victim of this scam.

I received a phone call twice from them.  The gentleman that called me says his name is officer Shaun Miller.  He says that he is an officer of the law and gives no identification and that the federal people are listening but don't identify themself.

He is definitely not an American but a foreigner.  He has all my vital information from personal information to bank information.

Telling these people on the phone that it is a scam doesn't work with them.  THey will keep calling you.  In my case, they told me that they can't mail me the proof that I did this so called pay day loan on the Internet.  They want my email address only.

I am taking this one step further.  I have contacted my lawyer, and from there I will be doing all the necessary steps to shut them down permanently.  Start by contacting your local police department, etc.

Typical scam

This is a common scam.  They likely got your information from an online loan application you filled out.   They use the information to make themselves sound legitimate.

Next time they call, let them know you are aware that this is a scam and that you've notified the police.   This usually works and they won't call again.
