Casting Networks, Inc. which operates several different websites like www.sfcasting.com, www.lacasting.com, www.nycasting.com and www.castingnetworks.com is a huge money making rip off disguised as a legitimate operation. they fool you by saying their membership is only $25 for the year, which appears cheaper than other casting sites, HOWEVER, start adding the key components needed and you are easily spending $192/year PLUS the $25 registration fee for a grand total of $217 for the year!!!!!!!
the screen actors guild of america SAG.org does not endorse this site and discourages people from signing up with sites like this. although, some people in the industry and usually people who think they "know it all" have used this site, does not mean that this site is ethical for our industry.
this applies to www.actorsaccess.com as well. since when did breakdownservices, ltd. decided to start charging actors for submissions to castings???? this "once" seem to be legitimate operations are about making money - not about helping talent.
we need to know whether they operate legally now that the krekorian act has passed.

I have been cast on major TV shows like Orange is the New Black and Kimmy Schmidt through them. If you have an agent or manager the service is FREE!! But if you don't its $25 for the year or $1 for a submission. I would hardly call it a scam. Spending 1$ to make 100$ for the day for Non-union and a lot more if you are union is not a scam. My daughter has gone on go sees for $1000 jobs and has an agent and doesn't pay a cent. I love that I can pick up things here and their on my schedule when I have the time. You can't do that when you have an agent, they want you to be available all the time. It's well worth the small amount of money. Of course unions are discouraging self rep it cuts out money they could be making and there is also the problem with not legit jobs finding their way on there but you have to use your head not your heart.
