Thomas Marinovich advertised that Centennial Mortgage would see if I could qualify for a low for free under a "no cost, no obligation consultation." He then fooled me into giving him my credit card and charged me several hundred dollars. Like many mortgage finance victims, I was tricked by a fly by night, get rich quick mortgage consultant. I feel ashamed when I write these words because of how stupid I feel. To get tricked by a shamster is one thing, but I always felt that I was smarter than everyone else. I guess it just shows there are many nasty people out there who will do anything to earn a bug.

I never authorized Centennial to charge my credit card for doing the loan because they advertise that their services were free. If you see that on their website at http://www.icloans.com, then beware it is a scam. They even forged an appraisal that they claimed they did on my property to justify the fee. I never met with anyone from Centennial to do an appraisal. Centennial was completely deceitful in the application process repeatedly leading me to believe over a 3 month period that my loan was "almost near approval."

Thomas Marinovich undoubtedly made alot of money from victims like me so I thought I would share my story so that nobody gets hurt by them again.

Doubtful Story

AUTHOR: Michael - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 21, 2009

To whomever wrote this report your description of your experience has so many unbelievable aspects that it makes me think that you are simply a slanderer and as such this could have legal ramifications. The following facts lead me to this conclusion.

1. We do not collect any up-front application fees. Your claim you were duped into giving a credit card and then that card without authorization was charged $500 is impossibly ridiculous. After checking with all personnel here at Centennial there has been no complaint of any kind concerning a customer of Tom Marinovich in any regard, never mind such serious claims as have been made here on this site.
2. The procedure followed by every loan officer of Centennial Mortgage is as follows. There is no fee collected from a prospective borrower until an appraisal has been ordered and an appraisal does not get ordered until the loan has been pre-approved. The fee then collected covers the cost of an appraisal. Not a penny of that fee goes to Centennial nor the loan officer. So the claim here made about get rich quick schemes, collecting $500 which could only have been for an appraisal, is also impossibly ridiculous.
3. The claim made about us forging an appraisal is so absurd it is hardly worth commenting on. As if anything like that is even possible to do, imagine a mortgage company who's mode of business is to collect $500 from people and then forge appraisals. I can't believe I'm even responding to this.
4. Tom Marinovich makes no money unless a loan is closed. None. To make a claim that Tom Marinovich goes around collecting $500 from individuals simply as an exercise of fraud is not only ridiculous in it's premise it is slanderous.

In conclusion, Centennial Mortgage has an excellent reputation which can be checked by calling any realtor, attorney, title insurance co. etc. here in the Hudson Valley. If in fact any of the claims made here even resemble the truth I would be more than happy to discuss the matter with this claimant. Unfortunately though I feel this is just a fictional story. In any event I can be reached at 845-339-1341. Ask for Mike
