Certified Mergers & Acquisition Business Intermediaries is the newest rendition in a long string of similar companies. You will get ripped off just like I did.

Scott is a scam artist. The above named companies are just the ones I know of that he has started and folded. Do your due diligence when looking at a business brokerage? Look at the other business brokerage firms and how they operate. All licensed brokers and all are llegitmate businesses and networks. You do not see any of the traditional brokerages on ripoff reports. With Scott, you cannot even get a list of the names and number of brokers working with him. I was in business with him and he couldn't provide it to me.

References - Now Scott will tell you he cannot give you references as it is against the law and he does not sell franchises, only licenses. While I was at NAABB, Scott did use me to chat with several prospects so that is a lie.

Staffing / Marketing - Scott will tell you of the support you will receive and the great marketing campaigns. None of that will come to fruition. Buy a territory and try to hire 5-7 agents per location and you will go through hundreds of interviews and thousands of dollars trying to attract talent. Why? There is a 5k fee to bring on new agents. We also tried to make a 3 tier pricing system and we couldn't convince anyone to come on board. The advertising was on Craigslist. Enough said. If you advertise a 250K job on Craigslist and a minimum wage employee answers the ad, what are the chances the person will have 2k-7k to invest. Scott will blame you for that although he was part of the interview process. I also received two marketing campaigns which are essentially phone blasts. Neither were successful and there were always issues of why the calls were not taking place. I was supposed to receive weekly phone blasts in my 6 territories.

Marketing Documents - The PDFs they provide you are slick. Their new website guarantees an income of 200k. I can wager a bet that there is a stipulation somewhere in the contract about a broker default. You would have to sell 5-6 businesses to make the 200k. I would bet there isn't a CMABI broker that sold 6 businesses last year. Lie after lie.
