BEWARE!!! RUN, DON’T WALK AWAY! SCAM ARTIST!

My family has come to this area of Florida every year for the past 30 years, and I have never stayed somewhere so disgustingly dirty in my whole life. We wore our flip flops the entire trip because our feet were black from floor grime if we did not. The tubs were moldy; the shower liners were black with filth, as were all the base boards, the fan blades, the molding above doorways, etc. The tub in the hall did not drain and it leaked, hence the black mold all over the floor.

We tried to contact our host, Chad Wade, on our first morning there to see why we could not get the oven to work. Chad, never called, texted or messaged me back, after multiple attempts to contact him. The oven would not work (the stovetop did). My small child sat on one of the bar stools at breakfast the first morning, and the screws came out and it fell apart. On top of the fact that the place had not been cleaned in years and stuff was falling apart, there were numerous major safety violations.

THERE WAS NO LOCK ON THE DOOR TO THE BALCONY on the 12th floor!!!There were zero safety locks on the windows. On the 12th floor, they open wide enough for my 8 year old to slide through, with no screens or safety features. The batteries needed to be replaced in the fire alarm – it started beeping so often I finally had to take it apart.

The steps on the bunk beds in the hall are so shoddily built that the second step wobbled because the screws are not put in correctly, and they are made of untreated wood, which means splinters.  We found part of a dirty maid’s uniform in one of the beds. The pots and pans do not have matching tops. The whole unit needs repainting. Every door was so dirty, like no one has ever heard of a Lysol wipe. The refrigerator was dirty inside. The worst of this is I tried to contact Chad every day we were there, but he never acknowledged a single text or phone call, beyond our asking how to work the a/c controls when we first arrived. THAT question was answered within 2 minutes. My summation is that this host knows his property is unkempt, and if his visitors bring any issues to his attention, he will ignore you. Overpriced, disgusting, gross.

After looking this guy up, I am convinced any 4 star ratings he has on his rental sites are paid posters. I saw other people leave similar reviews to mine. Some people paid this guy money for a rental, then showed up, and their rental was gone to someone else. And they never got their money back. I'm just thankful none of us got bed bugs while we were there, because I did read that others have gotten bed bugs in his rentals.
