this company does not stand behind their product. they tried to say that my four year old truck had issues which prevented their product from working. they had me make fifteen different adjustments to try and make their defective product work, which caused me to unhook my battery for extended periods of time and open the computer housing and make adjustments to the computer that controls the fuel delivery system. after several weeks and thirty or so emails, they finally agreed to issue a refund if i agreed to send it back. worst customer service experience of my lifetime.

Ethanol Efficiency

AUTHOR: BioBob - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 20, 2012

I believe you are mistaken - Ethanol (and Methanol) are more efficient than gasoline in a gasoline engine - about 40%. But you are correct in that it has less energy than gasoline - about 40% less, but because it is more efficient, it takes 1.56 gallons of ethanol to go the same mileage as gasoline. But in a high compression engine designed for alcohol, it is more efficient, so even though it has less energy, it will get virtually the same gas mileage.  And it is over 80% cleaner! (and did I mention that you can use it in your high performance car because it has like a 105 octane).

Also, I have used this conversion kit in one of my cars, and it ran fine.

E85 use

AUTHOR: Ramses - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 06, 2012

I don't know whether or not this product works as you describe. What I do know is that E85 lowers you mileage significantly. In fact, unreasonably so.

There is absolutely no reason E85 should be on the market at all. It is much less efficient a fuel. Not to mention it is made from food which could be used for much better purposes than transportation. Fossil fuels are much much more efficient.

I've done a fair bit of research on fuels and actually the old leaded gasoline is the best and most efficient that we've had thus far. But I suppose this is beside the point. I guess what I'm saying is that based on efficiency, everyone should just use regular gasoline 99% of the time.
