Chase - Cardmember Service increased interest rate from 14.5% to 27.5% on small business account ripoff Wilmington Delaware
*Consumer Comment: similar problem with Chase
Chase brought out Bank One, I had my small business credit card with Bank One, here just a few short months later, Chase raised the interest rate from 14.5% to 27.5%. The first thought is well most banks do that when you miss a payment or over draw the account, but my account was perfect, no miss payments or late payments or over drawn on the limit.
I believe they are just like Enron, stealing what they can from the small business person and I can bet that they didn't do it to do their really big customers, that is outright discrimination, possibly fraud.
There should be a class action lawsuit with practices like this.

similar problem with Chase

I also had a problem recently with Chase cardmember services. My interest rate was upped to 28.4%, and when I called to ask why, I was informed that it was due to "late fees."
I had called from work, so i looked up my old bills, and could not find any late payments... Coincidentally, I was refinancing my home, and when I had my credit checked, Chase had listed me as severly delinquent on multiple accounts, which I never had. (It turns out that they had been sending me a yearly fee for a line of credit to my physical address, not my mailing address.) I had never accessed the line of credit, and the company DID release the delinquent notices on my credit report, but the card company will not reduce the rate.
Needless to say, I have cancelled the credit card, and will be using another company.
