Checker Auto, CSK Auto, Checker, Schucks, Kragen, Murrays Reilly Auto Parts REBATE CHECK BOUNCED Phoenix Arizona
*Consumer Suggestion: pointing the finger at the wrong people
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: Rebates Processed by CPG
*Consumer Suggestion: Deanna, turn it over to the bad check program for enforcement
Purchased motor oil, September 2008 in Aurora CO. Sent the rebate offer in, received rebate check in November. So far so good? Not so fast. Received notice from the bank, payment had been stopped and their account closed. Well that just cost me a $30.00 fee from my bank. Of cource I contacted Checker by e-mail and snail mail and you guessed it, silence. Anyway on top of everything else we have to beware of REBATE CHECKS now???

pointing the finger at the wrong people

The rebates at any retail outlet is offered by the manufacture of the product and not the retailer. Your issue should be with company offering the rebate and not with checker

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Rebates Processed by CPG

Just a heads up that Kragen contracts with Continental Promotions Group, Inc. based out of Tempe, AZ to process rebates/issue checks.
CPG filed for Chapter 11 on November 14th; anyone who submitted a rebate after that date probably won't have it honored. People who did receive a check it will probably be returned NSF.
CPG has been paid by the vendors to process the rebates but this money has "disappeared" and cannot be accounted for. I would contact Kragen directly and see if they will make good on the rebate.
Good Luck!

Deanna, turn it over to the bad check program for enforcement

Deanna,
First, go to your bank and get front and back certified copies of the check, and the original if possible, along with any statements of fees you paid.
If the check came out of AZ, you need to submit the complaint there.
Go to the State website, or to the Maricopa County website, and then to the District Attorney, then the bad check program.
AZ is vigilant in consumer protection.
They will most likely get you your money.
GOOD LUCK!!
