I know of several instances where underage drinkers were served at this restaurant, some were even employees. Then they drove home drunk,Iam very upset with this.. The manager Geoffrey Chewning knows all about it and let it happen, and even drank with these kids.

Not involved with Chili's in any way

If this report is true, I care because I'm out on the road with these people, and so is everyone else. Would you really feel safe out on the road with your family knowing that teenagers and such are able to get drunk at their local Chili's restaurant so easily? I sure don't.

"Why Do You Care If The Restaurant Is Serving Underage Drinkers"?
AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

Because 13,000+ people die each year from drunk drivers in the US and last year appox. 1500 died in TX as a result of drunk drivers and you say they're "harmless"? If one of them get involved in an accident and it can be proved they were served alcohol at chilli's, someone's gonna "owned" a large chunk of chilli's. For this reason, I doubt chilli's was serving underage drinkers BUT as I posted before, they were serving people who had had too much alcohol already, which is just as bad, with the same results.

I am Geoff Chewning, Report Left because of personal Grudge
AUTHOR: Geoffrey - (U.S.A.)

I am Geoff Chewning.
At no time do I serve minors. At no time do I consume Alcohol with minors. I don;t even drink (heart issues). I actually have stricter rules for carding and the prevention of underage drinking at my store, than are required by the company. Feel free to call or visit and interview every single staff member.
This report was made by my girlsfriends EX. same day this was made a customer complaint very similar to this came to my boss and a MySpace page was created in my name by him. Funny thing is that he used the same email address on myspace to open the account that he did to make a complaint. Was real easy to show my boss what was going on. Also tried to refer to things that my boss was part of. (A calendar we all made for fun)
Also in the next week He forged my signature to stop my mail. Currently working with postal inspectors to bring charges against him.
All this stuff is in an effort to get me fired and ruin my name, and is all untrue.
Be sure that the slander lawsuit I am getting ready to file his revoking of this report will be part of the settlement.
I have asked ripoff report to remove it, and have yet to recieve response. I understand that they don't remove reports but when my name is googled and:
"Ripoff Report Search Results:Chilis Bar And Grille, Geoff Chewning serve underage drinkers Ripoff Richmond Virginia*Consumer Comment ..How is that ripping you off? ...
www.ripoffreport.com/searchresults.asp?q1=178 - 28k - Cached - Similar pages"
Is the first thing that appears, and is all untrue. Something should be done. This is my line of work, RipoffReport.com is not designed for this sort of thing and it should take that into account. The person who wrote the report is in his 30's and has no foundation for his claim and is simply trying to ruin my reputation, and this site is allowing that to happen. Verify the information please and then when it can't be remove it.
Again I challenge you to interview EVERY single person in my store.

WHY DO YOU CARE IF THE RESTAURANT IS SERVING UNDERAGE DRINKERS?
AUTHOR: Margaret - (U.S.A.)

Who cares if they serve underage drinkers, I know I sure don't. As long as you are not involved, don't get involved, its none of your business unless its harming you personally in some way.

Geoff Chewning, does not allow the sell to underage people. I have worked at that store for over a year. Drinks aren't allowed out of the Window without proper ID, and ID date on the tickets. We have to have there birthdate. Geoff Chewning will go to a table and ask if they were ID'd. We can lose our job if we don't, and thats the last thing most of us need. This person has a grudge against Geoff, for some reasons and wants to start something. I came on here myself to file a report against T.G.I Fridays and found this. This is Stupid, if he did it, he wouldn't be working there still.
Billy you are a liar.

Report this to authorities
AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

If you witness or are aware of illegal behavior as this and do not report it to the authorities then you are just as guilty as the person serving them. How would you feel if one of these kids had an accident and if you had gotten off your duff and reported it you may have prevented it.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Possible solution

I too work at Chilis Restaurant. There was a Manager doing the same thing when our chilis first opened. The bar tender Tracey soon found out and reported it to the General manager and she was fired. Also you can always call human resources and tell them also. Don't be afraid. You can always getr another serving job if yo0u feel uncomfortable. You can also ask for your identification to remain confidential. Another thing you can do is tell the authorities and they can bust people comming out of the restaurant after they drive off. They'll never know it was you..
Hope this helps. Kim

Going Downhill Fast

I use to go to chili's often. The last two times, I took my wife, her daughter, her husband and the grandkids. Both times on a Friday night around 6:30. Both times there were a number of loud, foul mouthed, very drunk people. The last time they were having a shotgun contest at the bar, to see who could who could put down the most beers in a given time. I don't know what's up with chili's. But thanks for the post. It's time for a call to the TABC.
