City Rips-Offs Utility Residents

The City of Newark, Texas was notified by the resident at 200 Killough that she had found a septic tank on the property.  The woman did not get her money back for paying for years of city sewer service but instead the city took out her water meter and continued to charge her for sewer.  (See bill in link).  She was harassed and threatened to the point she had to flee and eventually sold the property.  The present tenants are currently paying for sewer service.  T.C.E.Q. was notified and instead of doing something, they came out to the private property walked around the home and reported that they could not see a septic tank.  The tank was put in before permits were required.  This is a rural town and many of the homes have septic tanks without permits so there are not records.  TCEQ closed their investigation.  They did not investigate the city sewer line.  We believe they did this because they are ultimately responsible for errors of this magnitude and do not wish to be blamed or implicated.
