Clever Investor is a real estate investing educational company based in Tempe, AZ. Clever Investor provides educational services and products for real estate investors who are currently trying to get their business off the ground. “Our students’ success is our success, so when we build our products or services for real estate investors, everything we do helps them succeed in this business,” states the owner, Cody Sperber.

Clever Investor acquires leads through a number of sources, including referrals, social media, online marketing, and direct mail. “Students come to us from various sources, but once they come into our world, they receive an amazing experience,” states Mr. Sperber. The consultants and mentors at Clever Investor do everything they can to help new students learn and build their business. “From the get go, we immediately start taking a look at their business alongside with them, their current goals and their current resources, and we help build out a game plan or a road map to help them get to where they want to go,” states Mr. Sperber of his company’s focus on its students.

Most students contact Clever Investor through online resources to purchase a product they are selling. Upon purchasing the product, students receive phone support, assistance, and training on the product purchased. Clever Investor offers further one-on-one training after the initial implementation assistance. “Most of our students, just through the process of getting to know us and getting involved in the Clever Investor family, come to us and request for more support, more one-on-one training, [and] other products and services,” states Mr. Sperber.

Clever Investor provides a wide variety of products and services designed to fit all experience levels and budgets. Their training programs range from a free starter kit designed for novice real estate investors all the way to the Fast Track Profit System which is the most complete real estate investing program on the market. The Fast Track program includes step-by-step training that takes students through all aspects of building a real estate business. It includes how to set up your business, find the deals, how to acquire the properties with no-money down and how to sell the properties for a quick profit. In addition to the Fast Track system Clever Investor offers several other industry leading training programs that are all very detailed and easy to implement.

Clever Investor teaches a wide variety of strategies, some of which are designed to assist students in generating short-term profits, and other strategies that help students create long-term cash flow. These strategies are designed to be effective in all types of markets. In addition to the most up-to-date real estate strategies, we were also impressed in the fact that Clever Investor continually teaches students how to succeed whether they are working part-time or full-time on their business. Unlike their competitors, Clever Investor does not sell their products with hype, nor do they promise that you will "get rich quick”.


Since being in business, Mr. Sperber states that his company has only received one complaint, which was posted on Ripoff Report, and that the particular student who lodged the complaint admitted that some of his past bad experiences were influencing his review of Clever Investor. “He admitted… that he allowed some of his negative past experiences to affect what he was currently doing with us, and in fact, it wasn’t really us that was the issue,” states Mr. Sperber. However, because Clever Investor strives to have the best customer service, since the complaint was issued, they decided to hire more customer service representatives and another VIP Concierge (a person who is assigned to a student to provide one-on-one phone support) to support their students and ensure that everyone is receiving the support and training they need.

Mr. Sperber is proud that during his four years of business, the complaint lodged against his company on Ripoff Report is the only complaint he’s received. “Any time you’re learning a new task, or a new skill, it can feel overwhelming when first getting started, and that seems to be the most common issue we see across the board with new students,” states Mr. Sperber. To assist new students, the representatives at Clever Investor break down the information in a systemized manner, so it can be easier to understand, as well as provide one-on-one support for the student to assist them.

"Any time a customer is unsatisfied with us, we are immediately going to do anything and everything we possibly can to go above and beyond for that student,” states Mr. Sperber. After learning of the complaint lodged against his company on Ripoff Report, he immediately reached out to the student who posted the complaint and personally spoke with that student to resolve the issue. “The student that made the complaint against us on Ripoff Report, once we got to the bottom of the issue, we realized that some of the things he said about us when he made his written complaint were absolutely not true, and I think that’s part of the reason he immediately went on there and marked it as ‘issue resolved,’” states Mr. Sperber.

After a complaint is resolved, the team at Clever Investor continues to follow up with the customer and ensure that everything has been resolved and to the customer’s satisfaction. “Typically the students have an opportunity at that point and time to set a later date for us to be able to follow up with them once again just to ensure that we are providing the highest level of support for them that we possibly can,” states Mr. Sperber.

As a matter of policy, when a business participates in the Corporate Advocacy Program they agree to allow Ripoff Report to contact a customer if they file a complaint so they can make things right with them. In order to confirm that the complaints were resolved, Ripoff Report is copied on all responses so we can insure that the member business did right by their customer.

Now to the original report that was filed:



 I had hoped to resolve my dispute with Cody Sperber's Clever Investor program in good faith, without having to file a ripoff report, but (unfortunately for them), here I am. My beef with these people regards their lack of forthrightness about who you'll be working with, for starters:

"Cody limits his students to 25-at-a-time in order for him to give you the 1-on-1 attention you deserve," I was told.  Well, you don't work with Cody; you get a bunch of videos that feature Cody in rather childish skits.

I was told by the salesman, "I really shouldn't tell you this, but Cody actually closes your first deal for you!"  That is what hooked me, because that would basically pay for the course, if it were true. Well, I was given a surrogate in place of Cody, to whom I could only talk by phone for 1 hour every 2 to 3 weeks.  If I had questions between calls, I was to email him.

This was a horribly messed-up arrangement for anyone who's never dealt with real-estate buying/selling and all the other headaches that come with that. By the time you find out you've bought a pig-in-a-poke, you're weeks into the program, and they only offer a 3-day refund policy.

I've been hoping to at least re-coup SOME of the cost, as I have zero interest in moving forward with these people who've demonstrated shady salesmanship and deception. If they want to show good faith, they'll reach out and attempt to make things right, and then I'll be happy to amend this report to reflect that.
