My wife and I work hard to provide for our family. It's very disappointing to receive an mere postcard from the mail from people that so politely got me into signing a fictitious and dishonest contract for my 3 kids college funding.
On April 2003 I got myself sunk into a big rip-off, by accepting an invitation from the College Funding Center personnel, attending their seminar at a Houston Hotel and granting them an monthly automatic withdraw of about 140$ from my checking account. I was so outraged when that postcard brought me up to the reality that what I hoped and expected to be a good investment for my kids College (because I just couldn't afford it ) turned out to be a large scale scam that left my account $1440 short.
Even after receiving this post card with no return address or phone number $137 were deducted from my account. My kids education means a lot for me and I think that's immoral and evil to stage such a scam and hurt honest people who work hard for their families. I tried since to contact them. I paged Mr Joe Mulcahy on january19,2004 and somebody on the name of Sam contacted me back saying that Mr Mulcahy just had a heart attack and is at the hospital. I called Mr Al Barone but he's not picking up the call after I could talk to him once.
Please if anyone knows about any action taken against this Center please I would appreciate to aware of it.
Thank You
Albert

Advice for Albert, You should read up on the FTC suit, and then contact the FTC

Albert, bring up the report entitled "College Funding Center is Finally Going Under." I have posted some information about an action by the FTC. This action is the real reason why CFC was shut down, and why all they could send you was a postcard. The federal judiciary has them on lock-down and the FTC is trying to get your money back. Like I said, read the other report, there's more information there.
My concern with your report in particular is that they seem to have taken money from your account even after they had been shut down. You should read up on the FTC suit, and then contact the FTC and let them know of this. If they did in fact take money from your account after being shut down there may be a criminal charge in store for them. I'm sure the FTC would love to hear about it.
